What Do Customers Say About the Solar Wholesale?
Positive reviews:
“I have spoken to many solar companies and most seem to take advantage of the homeowners lack of knowledge about solar systems. I am a Certified Energy Engineer through AEE (cert ID 18143) and I am able to accurately calculate system size I need and I have a good idea of system cost. Most companies under size the system and overcharge. Solar warehouse is a no BS company. They accurately sized my system and gave me a very good cost ($2.80 per Watt). They will give you the straight talk you need when deciding if a system is right for you. In addition, they installed my entire system in less than a day. They are the best solar company in Utah.” – Jim.peterson ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ March 19, 2018
“I have been looking into solar for a while now, and had more quotes than I care to admit. Solar Wholesale had by far the best pricing and excellent service. They also didn’t insist on coming to my house to pressure me into using them. They just answered my questions and provided a quote. I went with the full install and have been very happy with the result. The system works great, and looks very clean on the house. They are also super fast. From bid to installed was faster than I could get appointments to talk to some of their competitors. And their prices are so good some of their competitors insisted that I couldn’t possibly be buying just the panels for that price.” – Travis ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ August 29, 2017
Negative reviews:
“Solar wholesale put together a complete package, including instructions, and step by step process for getting the solar system approved by authorities having jurisdiction and installed. If this was all they promised I would give them 4 stars. Unfortunately, after the sale has been made – NOTHING! They do not return calls or provide ongoing service. I could not get them to correct and update the Solar App for monitoring the system. I had to work through the mfg to get this done. I expanded my system and turned to Solar Wholesale for help. They would never return my calls. Previous employees I had worked with left the company with no one who would respond and answer questions. Too bad really, Solar wholesale could have had a repeat customer and received additional sales from other customers through referrals had they provided service as promised.” – 88croym ⭐⭐☆☆☆ October 11, 2022
“If u value your time, money and sanity avoid Solar Wholesale at all cost. First they sent us wrong instructions. When we requested the proper ones they sent the same wrong ones Also sent us a bunch of components for a different system and didnt send many that we needed. Had to go out to marketplace to buy our own. They mostly ignored our repeated requests for help. And they kept insisting we sign a document that clearly said in bold print “”DO NOT SIGN THIS DOCUMENT BEFORE INSTALLATION IS COMPLETE AND OPERATIONAL””.They even threatened legal action if we didnt sign it. Finally, when we got it all installed,we discovered they sent us a dead $12000 battery pack. Run,dont walk away from this company.” – Glenmartensen ⭐☆☆☆☆ November 22, 2021
Positive reviews:
“Solar wholesale have been a pleasure to deal with. They have been highly responsive and helpful every step of the process. I finally got my system up and running after a process made very difficult by my electrical company – Xcel Colorado. Solar wholesale were fantastic through the entire project and even got involved with helping with the power company. The design, documentation and materials provided were excellent. Once I got the system running there was one dead panel which showed no damage and they sent out a warranty replacement in very little time. It was definitely a learning curve and I would recommend it as a 2 person project but I managed it myself so don’t be put off.” – Nick E. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ January 2, 2025
“Our company provides complete DIY kits. Our kit includes a permitting package which you submit to your local City to obtain a permit and also you permit package is your road map for your installation. We supply you with an instruction manual and all the tools to successfully install your own solar system. Our kit comes with everything you need including solar panels, inverters, racking, breakers, sub panel, AC disconnect, wires, conduit, sealant, drill bits, etc etc. You need not go to the hardware store. Nobody offers what we offer. On top of that we then offer technical assistance after the sale. Our customers have been our best partners. Go see our YouTube Video posted by Jerryrigeverything or google DIY solar installation video. You will see just how easy solar can be to DIY. Your power will will never go away but your bill to pay for your DIY kit will go away and save you tens of thousands of dollars. We are not of bunch of sales people we believe in educating our customers. I am confident that if you have just a little construction ability I can assist you in completing your DIY installation. Did I mention how much I love my job. I used to be a pretty darn good mechanic and loved helping people but with this job I can literally save people so much. The best is when I have a customer that has been quoted $40,000.00 from another company and I can get them a DIY kit for a fraction of that cost or even do the full installation for $25,000.00 and save them $15,000.00, I’ll tell you it doesn’t get any better” – Kerry B. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ May 1, 2020
Negative reviews:
“Stay away from this company!!!!! Once you sign the sales agreement you will be ghosted. I was told would qualify for energy trust, nope. They are not registered so no credit available. I had to send in my own application to the electric company to get the meter switched out. My solar panels have not worked and they are ghosting again. No customer service whatsoever. I can not get them to register my system with AP systems so I can monitor any change in production. Ap systems can not help they have contacted Solar wholesale and still nothing. Keep saying I should get an email with a link. every other email seams to find its way. Will be filing complaint with BBB and contacting an attorney.” – Maureen E. ⭐☆☆☆☆ June 30, 2018
“Spoke to Eric sales at solar wholesale. He started arguing with me saying the cost of solar does not include the cost of roof replacement. I said in my case, my roof is not leaking. Its an old roof but there is no need to replace the roof or make partial repairs unless it is leaking. But with solar I’m now recommended to do a total roof replacement. In addition, your costs do not include permit fees, metering fees, and any additional unforeseen costs if there is roof damage, or panels do not work properly. He started arguing that i am taking the worse case scenario. But in the case of solar sales, they are taking the best case scenario. Where if you took the $27,000 for the system, a home equity line of credit would cost 8% and the system would save me 6%, so I would actually be losing money. He said most of his buyers are purchasing all cash. He said we’re not a good fit and hung up on me. He did however, provide the information that I needed to make an informed decision. And was honest about it, however, he was argumentative. He was knowledgeable and helpful, but the call seemed to end badly because it was not a good fit for me. I did not like that I was being given an attitude because it was not a good fit for me.” – Gary C. ⭐⭐⭐☆☆ September 7, 2023
Positive reviews:
“Very happy with the purchase, customer service was great and they were very helpful. I purchased and installed in 2022 and I have saved thousands by DIY and not paying utility bill. *make sure to get the correct amount of Solar panels – get the correct amount of Kilowatts that were used during an entire year (energy company should be able to provide). And then add a couple extra panels just in case” – Daniel Figueroa ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 2025
“It has been more than a year since I commit myself to DIY solar and I have no regrets about doing it with Solar Wholesale. It wasn’t smooth ride for me and I faced a few obstacles during permitting phase, kit delivery and installation. This company provided great help and flexibility to meet my needs. Special thanks to my project manager Dan and warehouse manager David.” – Kirill Solovyev ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 2023
Negative reviews:
“The whole reason I went with this company was for their customer service and support with ordering, sizing and permitting. With that said the physical products they sent were fine. Although you can probably skip the middle man (solar wholesale) and source the entire kit from their supplier signature solar for cheaper than they charge the consumer. All in all, my experience was quite poor. The plans/instructions were fairly minimal. They made several mistakes when ordering. Which resulted in multiple shipments spanning months to deliver. They forgot items in the shipment. Also, didn’t include the correct stickers. When I confronted them about it after I failed city inspection their response was, “”usually they don’t ask for the stickers”” which resulted in further delays. Customer service is minimal to none. Their email was “”broken”” which resulted in communication delays. Any questions I had they werent able to answer if I did get ahold of somebody on the phone as the operator was not familiar with installation at all. They would not return phone calls. Unable to schedule a call to go over installation questions. Would not recommend this company.” – Trevor Hawks ⭐☆☆☆☆ October 2025
“This company has horrible customer service. Can’t get ahold of anyone to help with inverters that have gone bad. Warranty on work they do or contract out is non existent. They are rude and try to make you feel like any problems are your fault. Have been trying to get answers for over a month with nothing to and no resolution. Please do your research and find a company that cares.” – Daniel Romano ⭐☆☆☆☆ 2025
