After submitting my details on the site, Solaria was one of the companies that stood out to me. I made an appointment with Dennis and was very happy with his explanation of their services and company history. Afterwards I decided to go with them and they were on the ball. The progress proceeded quickly and they had good communication through-out. The system has been performing as expected and even during the cloudy days of Jan/Feb it is producing 90%+ of my power (and I use quite a bit due to multiple large appliances and A/C units). “Solaria could not be bothered to get anything correct from the beginning with any of my ground installation requirements. They started off sending their site survey person out to my house but the surveyor didn’t know that he was supposed to survey for a ground installation. When he was informed he took a quick look at the location on the ground and gave it the OK and then did nothing else like measuring or taking notes or anything. Then it went to engineering and they also first provided a plan to install the solar panels on the roof. I had to correct them on that and then they provided a plan to install the panels at the wrong location on the ground based on nothing from the surveyor. I replied back and told them that it was wrong and even sent them a picture of EXACTLY what I wanted. They sent back another plan after a week of waiting and shifted the panels over a bit but did not put them where I had wanted. I sent back another picture of what I wanted and they took another week to respond and informed me that they just discovered that they could not install too close to the property line. They did not seem to have a very good understanding of what an acre of land looks like with measurements because they sent back another plan that did not look anything like the configuration of panels that I sent to them in the picture. I replied with another picture for them and told them not to put the panels in their proposed location due to wiring, piping, and septic. They sent back another plan after a couple of weeks and it was wrong again. They got the configuration wrong again and it wasn’t close enough to the property line like I had required. I requested that their engineering team call me since it was a problem to communicate via email for them to understand my requirements correctly. The engineering department never called. After a few more weeks they sent another plan and it was closer to the property line but it still was not close enough as code allowed for like I had required and this was when I started to give up on them. I NEVER received a call from anyone at the company except for the sales guy, Tim Delcavo, who was the only good thing that company had going for them. I also never received a phone call from any of the owners (Marcelo is the owner presented to me through energysage.com) either as part of their decision to give up on my installation. I find it despicable that an owner would not take ownership of what was going on there. I suppose it’s at least partially redeemable that they realized that they cannot do ground installations correct enough for permitting and planning and ultimate installation. However, that does not make up for the many months of frustration and lost time they inflicted on me through their ineptitude. Tim Delcavo, who happens to be the only redeeming part of the entire company, is unfortunately leaving the company for bigger better opportunities. Solaria could do nothing right and this was a horrible experience. There is no more redeeming factor going to be at the company any longer by way of Tim Delcavo. “It’s been 5 months since our installations and 5 payments to Solaria Energy Solutions and our panels are not working. Since the panels are not working, we are still paying the electricity bill. After many conversations about the issue, the person of contact LUCA SIMAS has stopped answering our calls for the past month and no one else would answer. The installation process was not smooth in any way. The time for the installation kept changing, and even with the extra time the installation plans had mistakes, we noticed because we had a close eye on the job, but nobody would have said anything. After the installation, the electric breaker for our backyard was changed, and only noticed because of the damage it was causing to the lawn, but nobody informed us. “We hired Solaria Solar & Roofing for a combined roofing and solar project, and the experience so far has been extremely disappointing. The roofing work left tar smeared across the flashing, handprints on painted areas, and a front gutter detached and hanging unevenly. When I brought it up, they pointed to a supposed “exclusions” clause that doesn’t even exist in the signed contract, which actually says work will be done in a first-class, workmanlike manner. On top of that, their trailer and trash have been sitting in our yard for over a week, blowing all over the neighborhood.
