“I went with Solar Max in October because they said my system would be up before the end of 2019. This proved to be false and it was only up by March. After contract was signed it was like pulling teeth to get anything done. I basically was the project manager (I never heard from mine) and even had to call and fax forms to the city and electric company to get permission to operate because the never did. “Everything was fine until installation. The inspection engineers missed the appointment with the city official two times in a row delaying the Permit to Operate (PTO). The sales rep never helped me setup the connectivity for monitoring and I had to figure out everything by myself. The system stopped working after two days due to faulty wiring set by the installers. So I have paid for a system that has not been working for the more than a month after PTO. Very disappointed with the experience. “STAY AWAY!!! I had my solar panels installed with Solarmax in 2014. Their customer service used to be very good and professional. I have been unable to reach the anyone at the company since 2020 that I thought they closed down. After reaching out by text to a tech that had come to my house once, he told me they are still in business. I tried several more times in the last 1.5 months and left 4 messages but nobody answers or returns calls. My monitor needs to be setup again so I cannot see the power generation. I have a $3000 electricity bill with SCE because my panels have not been generating for the last several months. Panels have been cleaned and still generate almost nothing. Use another company. “We loved Solarmax. Our rep was pretty professional and the price was good but within a couple of months after installation we began having a serious pigeon problem on our roof. All night we hear pecking and noises which disturbs our peace. Turns out they are nesting under our panels. I contacted our rep and said it does happen but we would have to pay to have wiring installed. Why wasn’t this mentioned ahead of time and why do we have to pay more money to prevent a known issue caused by Solarmax? Several other attempts to contact Solarmax have gone nowhere. Just excuses.
