What Do Customers Say About the Solera Energy?
Positive reviews:
“This process has not been without its ups and downs. Needing to have a gas meter moved, to clearing a spot for the generator. But thru it all the team has been great! Thomas was my initial contact and still checking on me while we are wrapping up the final pieces. Nathan, Tyler and Titus installed the solar panels even in the light snow! I also am impressed with the team at the Home Office, they have put up with my endless questions. But now I am very well versed in all things Solar and Generator!!!! Thank you Solera Energy LLC for the great service!” – MKB ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ February 18, 2024
“We live in the Kansas City area. Solera Energy installed our panels last fall. We were very impressed with the Salesman we worked with, the installers of the panels and the company itself. Working with KCPL/Evergy was a bit of a battle due to the timing of their changeover, but the Solera representative was able to work though that and get our panels operating with them. We are now seeing the benefits and experiencing many very high volume solar producing days. Our last Evergy bill was just $17. The option to finance the panels keeping our payments similar to what we were paying for monthly electric and pay nothing out of pocket to get the panels installed made it an easy decision!” – Jane ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ March 12, 2020
Negative reviews:
“It seems that their business model is hard sell with high prices. After they got my name as interested I received 9 calls attempting to establish an appointment — clearly a hard press. One agent did not have the courtesy to come to home and quoted an ridiculous price. The second agent, supposedly a “Manager” came, looked at the job and proposed a solution that was 29% higher than the next bid. No consideration was provided for alternatives to their ‘standard’ installation. My view is that if you are serious, get someone else, possibly two to review and bid the job.” – Bains ⭐⭐☆☆☆ July 4, 2021
Positive reviews:
“Excellent leadership. Fantastic crew of hard working coworkers. Very family oriented. High moral standards and behaviors from the top down. Accepting and encouraging company to work for. Have never experienced ownership to do anything but the right thing for his employees. The only people I have ever seen fail at Solera are the ones that did not put in the work.” – Sales Consultant ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ June 8, 2022
“Great industry to be in. Honest work knowings you’re trying to help save the environment with solar! I honestly can’t think of any bad things about any solar companies. It really just depends on the dollar signs at the bottom of their contracts!” – Sales Consultant ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ May 29, 2020
Negative reviews:
“The bull**** does not equal how much your paid the management will let you drown then completely remove the ability to work for more money and blame you. Any training whatsoever comes strictly from being shoved out and told to figure it out. This company has mastered the art favoritism. If your not their favorite good luck on your search for new employment” – Installer ⭐☆☆☆☆ July 11, 2024
“As an installer, you are paid for a job and not an hourly rate. The owners do not have an implemented site survey prior to an install this results in a lot of hiccups in jobs, causing the installers to lose money, and lose time away from their family. Unfortunately, the office has no accountability when issues like this happen. Stating multiple times that these hiccups are the reason why they will not provide 401(k). There are jobs where the money is great but most the time the money is not worth the 14 to 16 hour days. There is a lot of instances where teams will work 60 to 70 hour weeks and in the long run, it only amounts to 15 bucks an hour.” – Installer ⭐☆☆☆☆ September 8, 2023
Positive reviews:
“Solera installed our Solar system about a month ago. While a sales pitch typically makes me cringe, this one was very informative and felt more like a mutual conversation instead of a true “pitch”. I read all the fine print and they answered my questions as they came with patience. After signing on the dotted line, we waited our turn for installation. The Installation team was SHOCKING. They did such an amazing job, and honestly left our yard/area cleaner than how they found it. It looked amazing and the crew was great. After switchover from our local utility, there were a few hiccups with firmware updates, but every single time we emailed or called with a question, Solera was very responsive. Within a week or so, all bugs had been worked out and our system is working great! Will and Ryan are wonderful to work with as well as the install crew! Highly recommend.” – Laura Maupin ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 2025
“Shawn was awesome to work with. He was extremely knowledgeable and professional. Shawn completed our electrical assessment and consult and took all the necessary pictures all within a couple of hours, he made the process extremely easy. Working with Solera has been amazing. Everyone has been extremely nice and professional, thank you to Bill, Megan, and Shawn. You all have made this process effortless and pleasure to work. If you’re like me and being a little hesitant on going solar, give Solera a call they are extremely knowledgeable and it’s no pressure, if it makes sense and will work for your benefit, they are here to help however they can. I would recommend Solera a hundred times over.” – RICKY GRAY ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 2025
Negative reviews:
“Worst decision ever! Micro inverters always out, calls and texts never returned, told we needed 36 panels only got 26 and not being reimbursed for loss production! Very unreliable!! Our electric costs are now as much as our house payment!!! DONT’T RECOMMENDED WHAT SO EVER!!” – Joyce Wittenborn ⭐☆☆☆☆ 2025
“We chose solar to help offset high energy bills and to save money. We’ve had nothing but electric bills since these panels have been installed last February. We’ve had an electrician, an HVAC company, and energy come to the house, and all have said our issues are with our solar, not with our house. Solera is great for giving you the run around and never following through with anything they say. So far dealing with solera has been a 60,000 nightmare. I wouldn’t recommend this company to my worst enemy.” – Luke Allen ⭐☆☆☆☆ 2024
