What Do Customers Say About the South Carolina Solar Project?
Positive reviews:
“We have great news to share. Two weeks ago, just before dusk, I had the chance to turn the system on. The system is working and fully online—PERFECT! SCSP Solar delivered one of the best installations and products we’ve ever purchased. The entire process—from the initial quote to going online and generating the first kWhs—was completed in under nine weeks. That’s impressive for such a complex solar system! We truly appreciate all of you and everyone involved in this process for your hard work and dedication!” – Rudy R ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ April 15, 2025
“Very happy with the company and everyone I worked with. I especially like how they keep up with you via text messaging. It is very personable and easy to ask questions. They are very detailed and provide all the information you could ask for. They also took care of the HOA permissions for me which is a huge plus. The installation of the system is very organized and is not an eye sore, which is what I actually expected. Over all, one of the best companies and people I have ever worked with on a home project. A big thank you to all of them.” – Emory ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ November 4, 2024
Negative reviews:
“I contracted with SCSP to remove 31 panels so that I could replace my roof. They were too re-install he original 31 and add 13 more panels and 2 tesla back up batteries. All work was completed Nov 7th, 2025. They have been paid. However, out of 44 panels only 20 work. They have not responded to any messages, texts nor emails since. I found out today they never contacted the power company to amend the original application nor did they apply for a permit to do the work. Therefore, no permission to operate. No one is responding from SCSP. I found out there is another company listed at their same address and suite number but with a different phone number, company name and website. I called them and they had only heard of SCSP and that the address is basically a mailroom. I want resolution. I want appropriate permits applied for and for them to go thru the proper channels with electric company and make all 44 panels active.” – Connie ⭐☆☆☆☆ December 10, 2025
Positive reviews:
“We had been wanting to install solar panels for two years and waited until we had found a company we wanted to work with. SCSP is run by people who have solar panels themselves and have high standards for making their design match customer electricity consumption. We have some shade on our panels, and they accounted for that in their design. We are making the electricity we expected to make. Our questions were answered with a lot of expertise, and they helped us understand our electricity bill which is a little confusing at first. SCSP is well-regarded by roofing companies and has longevity in the business, both of which was are important to us. We recommend SCSP highly.” – Sara R. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ April 2024
“We have wanted to do solar panel installation for quite some time. We finally decided to pursue the project. Our goal was not to save money – although that helps – but rather do our part help saving the planet for generations to come. We contacted several companies and decided on SCSP. Jon Mason was very easy to work with. He responded to our questions timely and with patience. We were impressed with the materials SCSP proposed to use. The process of getting approval from the county was not quick. The whole process took about 3 months. Overall we are very pleased with our decision to proceed with the installation.” – Charlene K. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ November 2023
Positive reviews:
“They’ve got pretty good customer service. It’s a complicated, expensive and slow process, but they outline it well and communicate well. I was pleased with the installation and so far the product. They handle all of the permitting with local government as well.” – Jake Jacobson ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ November 2025
“I met with a couple of the larger corporate solar companies and got the used car salesman feeling after hearing their sales pitch. Jon was knowledgeable, patient, and down to earth. He took the time to design a system that fit my needs perfectly and has performed as advertised. The install was done in a day and the workmanship was flawless. Jon even lined up a crew to trim and remove any trees that blocked the panels. I have recommended this company to friends and family and will continue to do so.” – Patrick McClary ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 2020
Negative reviews:
“After this company patronized me for being young and trying to add solar panels to my home, saying there was no way I could pay my own bills without my parents’ help, I decided to go with another company. This altercation occurred October, 2019. I have been harassed via email and text ever since. Please do not give this company your contact information unless you are comfortable with being insulted and harassed. There are plenty of other great companies offering the same deals.” – Valerie Hall ⭐☆☆☆☆ 2020
“This company is horrible. Their communication is horrible. Their service is horrible. My solar panels were installed at the beginning of August and it’s now Oct 17 and the system is not yet working” – Lee Hewett ⭐☆☆☆☆ 2025
