“Let me start with the positive. Installation by the Detroit-based team was neat, well-done & completed in a professional manner, which I previously posted on social media sites. However, after spending $52,804 for the installation of 43 Solar Panels in 2023 & $16,430 for three Storage Batteries in 2024, or a total of $69,304, we have not seen a beneficial decrease in our electrical expense. Our electrical expense for the first six months ending June 30, 2022 and June 30, 2025 was $1,968 & $1,242, respectively, or approximately $3,936 & $2,484 on annualized basis, which is a reduction of only $1,452. On a straight line basis, it’s going to take 47 years to justify the expense of our solar system. We’ve been accused of using more electricity (not true; in fact, we use less electricity, since we are more energy conscious). Strawberry Solar and their product partner Enphase were responsive at first, making adjustments here and there. Now, jStrawberry Solar has gone radio-silent. Every time we reach out to Strawberry Solar, the response is “I’ll look into it over the weekend” or “everything has been a bit hectic lately; I have you on my list and I’ll dig into it soon”. “I researched 5 different companies and landed on Strawberry Solar for two main reasons. (1) They have their own master electrician (not a subcontractor) and (2) they offered me the most panels for the amount I had to spend (quality Panasonic panels!). The install went very well. Kenan, Mason, and Vincent handled the electrical stuff and did a great job! I was amazed at how easy it was to relate to them–like we had been friends for years. They even let two of my little girls be “helpers” and my kids loved them! Drew and Will managed different phases of sales and the roof install. I always felt respected and treated as the main priority. When we had a few small hiccups, each time Strawberry was there to accommodate my needs as a customer. When the system was started up it was a cloud day. I was shocked to see even w/o sun, the system was generating half of our regular consumption! When the sun shines it produces 3-5x what we need, extra goes to a battery (when I can afford it I’ll get a second one) and the remainder goes back to the electric company for a small credit. I can’t be happier. SolarEdge has great customer support and a monitoring app. Kermit the Frog once said, “It’s not easy being green!”? Sorry, Kermit…it is really easy! Being categorized as a millennial myself, I cannot comprehend the fact that Strawberry Solar have no active voicemail. I Tried to contact them weeks ago, but they refuse to answer the email. I am very concerned the direction that this company is taking. Heed the warning! I am hoping this will resolve the situation but I am not convinced. “What started out to be a solid relationship turned out to be a nightmare. Strawberry recommended and installed a Victron Energy system for us. The system never worked as proposed and designed by Strawberry. After two years Strawberry still has no answers to the difficulties of the system, and we are now faced with consistent system failures and shut offs. In addition Joe fails to answer calls, or do the necessary work to insure the system gets fixed. There is a constant shifting of blame from the current staff to former staff who are no longe with the company. The bottom line is we paid for a system that has never worked correctly, and Strawberry Solar is not standing behind their work. “Complete nightmare. The system is still not properly installed, 6 months after the contract was signed. Supposed to be done in 3 months. Strawberry Solar constantly shifts the blame to the electrician, Premium Electric, who was the subcontractor. Constant “apologies”, constant delays, followed by periods of flat out ignoring everything. I’ll be filing a complaint with the State Attorney General for starters.
