“I would caution anyone doing business with SunFirst Solar. Once they have your money and install your system, you are at risk of being ignored if anything goes wrong. SunFirst has refused for 4 months to replace broken inverters and initially tried to pawn the work off to another company that may not even exist. I purchased a SunPower solar panel system from SunFirst 4 years ago. In the spring of 2020, I noticed that I was no longer receiving information about solar production. So, I called SunFirst and they said they could see that at least 1 inverter was not functioning. This was the first red flag. They could see on their end that it wasn’t working yet it took me calling them to ask about getting it replaced. I assume that they knew it was busted and didn’t reach out to me as that would mean they’d have to pay to replace it. Only after calling to complain was I then told by SunFirst that SunPower would replace the broken inverter. This was in late May/early June of 2020. It’s now October and it still has not been replaced nor have I been given any guidance on if this will ever happen. Let alone when. I finally called SunPower in late June after waiting and hearing nothing. SunPower said that they sent the inverter to a firm called Meyer Electrical and not to SunFirst. SunFirst asked SunPower to send the inverter to Meyer because SunFirst was too busy to install them at my home. I guess SunFirst cares more about finding new customers than actually taking care of past customers. Meyer electrical may not even exist as multiple calls and emails to them have gone unanswered. It’s been almost 4 months now since SunPower sent the inverter to Meyer. I have not received any communication from Meyer about getting this inverter. Tayfun at SunFirst seems like a nice person, and I have no doubt that he is overworked. But this company could not care less about customers whose products are still under warranty. Over the months that this has been dragging on its been made clear to me that SunFirst does not care about a customer like me. They are too busy charging new people to install systems. I just hope for their sake that nothing breaks. As you may be treated in a similarly awful fashion as I am. The crew worked efficiently installing 21 panels and exterior conduit with great workmanship and teamwork. Courteous and responsive to a few special requests. A fairly complex configuration which required extraordinary physical efforts from Jose to access various crawl space locations. “I attempted to contact this company for a quote multiple times. Twice from their online form, twice by calling, once by leaving a voicemail, and once by corresponding through their Chat agent. The latter resulted in the ONLY response I received. A woman by the name of Tracy called me a couple of days after the chat. However, I was going into a meeting when she called. I asked her if she would call me back at 2 pm that day. She agreed. This was two weeks ago! And this is to get a quote! imagine if you were an actual customer needing help. “Horrible, they ruined 6 roofs and were unable to follow directions nor willing to correct their mistake. Hired Sun First to place a large array on our commercial office condo. Their low skilled workers put panels on every owners building except for ours. Try explaining to six different building owners and the building association why you punctured holes in every roof except your own. They took no blame or were unwilling to correct the mistake they made and tried even turning our own building association on us! We had to hire a different solar contractor to relocate the panels and a commercial roofer to patch up every hole they made in six different neighbor roofs. Took 15 months to cleanup 3 months of damage. Lost $6000+ on power generation, $6000+ on roofer hole patching, angered our neighbors, and to top it off the new solar contractor used non penetrating ballasts which didn’t penetrate our roof at all. Sun first never gave option to use ballasts. They were also over priced. They take no responsibility for their mistakes, sneaky, sleazy, business practices. We requested additional estimates changing the amount of panels and he was able to send us the new estimate within an hour. His responses were always fast and backed up with diagrams. We had had a few estimates from multiple solar companies. We went with Sun First because when Braden came out he was so knowledgeable and had done his research on our house. No other company had the panels placed where he did for the maximum sun exposure. The team at Sun First, worked with our roofing company to do the new roof and solar install together. Within a month of the estimate we had them installing the panels and they were up and running immediately. “I hired them to do a roof-top solar installation and the process started out great. Their estimator was straightforward and we quickly came to terms on what few negotiable items there are on a solar installation. And then I heard nothing for months. And then they were ready to go; and oh, by the way, here are the drawings that we forgot to discuss with you and the conduit routes that we didn’t really think about, etc, etc, I still don’t have a functional monitoring system. I am still paying PG&E every month for electricity. I am still doubting why I chose this company. Repeated emails have gone unanswered and I can tell that since the basic install is over and they have 80% of my money, that they no longer care about finishing this installation.
