“Use of Christmas lights and space heaters overloaded my home’s electrical system. And the surge knocked out electricity in my bedrooms. which caused me to spend the night in a cold and dark room! I went online and search the BBB’s rating of the local electricians. I provided my contact information on their website. And the next morning a gentleman who introduced himself as Nick called me from the Sun Solar Electric. He was patient and cordial and told me to take a photo of my Circuit Breaker and text it back to him, so he can determine if he could help me over the phone! He was able to instruct me over the phone to reset the tripped Circuit Breaker. And suddenly, I had electricity in all of my bedrooms! He did not even charge any fees for his consultation! I am delighted that there are honest and helpful operators like him in our community. And want to congratulate Sun Solar Electric for having such a fantastic employee. “Sun Solar Electric did a relatively large project for me in summer 2024, installing about 20kw of solar panels & 2x powerwalls. Went with them over 4 other high rated companies I spoke to at the time as came out in person to do a proper site visit before even quoting, they were very responsive to questions, used higher end panels and were very competitive on pricing. Some small delays on the install but don’t think it was anything beyond what would normally be expected and the installation itself was quite fast and not really disruptive at all. Also had a few issues in the weeks post install where the solar generation would suddenly drop and every time there were back out to the house within 24-48 hours to fix it and has been running smoothly since then. Everyone that came out to the house was great, Nick and Jim in particular are both really good guys, taking time to talk me through what they’re doing, as was Mike with the additional electrical work. “I regret selecting this company for my solar system installation. They were polite until paid. Then they stopped answering calls, lied about the details of the installation (for example, we had agreed that six circuits would be on backup power but they installed only four.) Post-installation, the system has had several problems (for example, not delivering emergency power from the backup battery when the grid failed). Warranty service is non-existent.
