“They sold me the solar system when they should have leased it to me. I made sure their representative had that information during our meeting. After the panels were installed I discovered hardware falling off my roof. When I was finally able to reach a customer service representative, the response I received was “Oh it’s probably just spare parts they left on your roof. Nothing to worry about.” They refused to send someone out to check on it. The first six months my electric bill combined with the loan was the same as what I had been paying for electricity before. They showed up and the install was only 4 or 5 hours and everything was finished! After the city approved the install, the system was turned on and I never had an APS bill from that point forward. “I am extremely disappointed. They came to my home, did an evaluation and came up with an installation plan. After several months of getting approvals, I got a text message stating I was scheduled for an installation date. They came while I was at work, and supposedly you don’t have to be present. I took off work early that day expecting to see the installation crew when I arrived. I got home and nobody was in sight. My wife told me they came, did some drilling and pounding, then came to the door and said they couldn’t complete the install — packed up and left. I have not heard from the company or salesman since. He spent 40 days trying to get his plan approved and it never got approved. I began to lose faith in this company and eventually paid $2,000 to get out of the contract because I lost all faith in their competency. “I had a terrible experience with SunLink — it’s been 5.5 months and the system is still not working. During this time, I hired 2 attorneys, filed a complaint with the Registrar of Contractors and Better Business Bureau, and filed a claim against their bond. They damaged my roof during installation and installed a different system than what was in the contract with no addendum or price adjustment. The loan was funded, so now I’m paying the electric bill while loan interest is accruing without any solar savings.
