The regional office informed me that they couldn’t resolve the issue remotely and needed to send someone on-site to fix it. They quoted a charge of $275 after applying a $15 discount from the original price of $290. This proposal seemed unreasonable, and I couldn’t accept it. I requested the email address for the parent company, and the following day, I received a phone call from Harley in New Jersey. Harley was very kind and helpful. Later that day, I could connect to the PVC and enter my password. I also received a follow-up call from Harley, and I am grateful for his eagerness to help, which ultimately saved me the $275 the regional office had proposed to charge. “8 months is how long it took for our ‘project’ to be completed. They were great in the beginning but once we signed the contract, they disregarded us completely. This company is some sort of whole seller that has a difficult time with staff turn over. Many mistakes were made handling paperwork, filing the correct permits, and scheduling. These guys eventually started to hide from us completely. They refused to take my call for months…MONTHS! They always claim your project manager is out to lunch (10 am, 2 pm, doesn’t matter). When the project was finally completed, they did not even have the courtesy to call us. We found out because our energy company emailed us. Do yourself a favor and go with literally anyone else. “I had a solar system installed in July 2023. Contract, paperwork and installation went flawlessly. However, from the beginning there were huge discrepancies in what SEA BRIGHT said I netted compared to Con Edison. There were numerous emails documenting the differences. There was no sense of urgency to fix my problem. In December, 2023 an adjustment was made. After that time, my panels started working erratically. Different panels would stop working for no apparent reason. By March, 2023 , my 12 panels stopped working completely. I contacted the manufacturer, SUNPOWER. They were going to send a tech on site but negated when they found I paid cash. SEA BRIGHT had also contacted SUNPOWER. SEA BRIGHT was given instructions to evaluate the system and did not show up till 4/24/24. Bottom line: they are stating I have too much voltage coming into the house. SEA BRIGHTs electrician has failed to correctly fill out a form for Con Edison to evaluate this issue. I have repeatedly documented that they must call Net Metering at Con Edison. This has not been done.Meanwhile, I have paid SEA BRIGHT nearly $22,000 for a solar system and have been paying electric bills since December , 2023. I feel this is an issue that can be fixed, but I cannot get SEA BRIGHT, SUNPOWER or even Con Edison to take ownership. .It is now June, nearly a year after installation. They take care of all their employees so well that you wouldn’t know that you work for a small company. In fact my health benefits are better at SBS then they were at the past two Fortune 500 companies I worked at. The only few downsides are that there is absolutely no advancement opportunities in general (at least on the sales side). Also you will be responsible for much more of the sales process than any other solar company. The good outweighs the bad by about 100x and I truly couldn’t be happier (except I could always use more money lol). Also because they use the best products and use all the best products as hard and fast policy you never have to wonder if you are doing the right thing. “I was introduced to this company by a co-worker when I told him I was in the market for solar panels. Everything started out great while they vetted my business. My rep was great. It went south once Danielle left the company in August. Communication suffered, they were unre-responsive at time…had to go back and forth with them over the signing bonus that I was promised etc. Signing bonus took nearly 7 weeks to be ‘mailed out’ and I still haven’t received it. Once they have your signed agreement you get treated differently. I wish Danielle stayed and the customer service dint walk out the door when she left. Install day was fine, and everything else went ok. Just dealing with folks and having them answer Emails is a chore. I’ll be happy when I get the bonus and dont have to deal with them anymore.
