“The salesman made a vague claim about an 18 month 0 interest program (they don’t) but also guided me to rebates I was unaware of. (Other salesmen offered no information on rebates). He also was very careful to only sell me what I needed (unlike other heat pump sales people) which resulted in a lower bid than others. The technicians were excellent. They made the process quick and easy and marked a blocked floor vent for me that had been covered so I could cut it out (no extra charge). “i recently installed heat pump furnace and a/c as well as a hot water heater with Sunset. i worked with Jesse Cherry and the whole process was seamless. this despite the fact that I am in another state and this was all handled as if i were there at the house in Olympia. All options were explained clearly and the final project accomplished exactly as Jesse estimated. The installers were pleasant, competent, and cleaned up the project site. I am very happy with the installation and feel sure the unit will work perfectly and that Sunset will help if there are any problems in the future. Very happy to recommend Sunset. “We purchased a Heating and Air conditioning unit approximately 2 years ago…there is a warranty. It is now ‘leaking’ solution, and not working. The first employee they sent out stated it had a faulty part.. and charged us $250.00 for that diagnosis. Sunset then called and stated that the employee did not know what he was doing. “I have a carrier electric furnace and heat pump that was installed by sunset air in 2022. The quality of the install was poor as the furnace was installed in the attic but none of the ductwork was sealed to prevent air in the attic from being pulled through the house. My HP has also stopped working due to low refrigeration. This tells me that there installers cannot properly seal the lines. This caused my HP to short cycle and possibly damage the unit. “Ownership is too disconnected from the reality of day to day operations. They pay office staff poorly. They do not value good employees, of which there are many long tenured loyal personnel. Unfortunately those long tenured employees are out of touch with the current workforce and it makes it a difficult environment affect change in policy or best practices. This is a union shop that no one wants to work at except the guys that don’t know how broken it is because they’ve never worked anywhere else. “I think Sunset Air may be having financial problems. Not sure what else would explain our experience. Our heat pump went out in Nov and we got several quotes to replace it (everyone initially refused to repair it – more on this in another review). They were the best quote and required a 50% down payment to order our equipment ($6000). Because of supply chain issues they could not do the job until June – I objected and reminded them that we were running on emergency propane heat so they agreed to accelerate our job to March. Well March came around and they had no equipment and could not provide a new date. At this point I insisted that they repair the unit instead. They did – and our repair experience with them was also frustrating. It’s now mid-April and they still have not refunded the difference between the repair and the new system down payment.
