What Do Customers Say About the Switch Electric Home Energy?

energysage.com

Positive reviews:

“These guys are rock solid. We had Switch Electric install a solar system for us in Walla Walla. Problems came up that no one could have seen coming, but they rolled with it, above and beyond, and got it done. Their positive attitude made all the difference. Solar is new to us and we had lots of questions, but they were patient and took the time to answer them all. They showed up when they said they would and always cleaned up after themselves. When we had to be out of town I didn’t hesitate to leave the key with them. We intend to have them do another job for us. Riley, Mike and Colter were great.” – Saundka ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ August 13, 2024

“Switch Electric knocked it out of the park with this solar, generator, and lithium battery installation. We could not be happier. It all started with a great account manager Daniel. He gave us options and walked us through them. He allowed us to pick and chose our product lines and functionality. Not once did he push products on us or services. A professional all the way. Jeremy install of the Enphase battery system and solar panels was flawless. His one on one training of the system was informative and very insightful. Enphase should be proud to know someone reps their product as well as he does. The installation team was also professional the entire time. Seth was the lead installer on the build was informative and engaging. We never had to wonder what was next during the install. The entire 3 man team made sure to go over where they were end of each day so there was no confusion of what to expect. The time they took with software installation and guidance was very appreciative. Could not be happier – the installation of the solar panels is beautiful, that is an odd thing to say about Solar panels. They blended and conformed to our roof like they were always there day one. Neighbors stopped and commented as the the same that they look so clean and sleek. We are already the talk of the neighborhood. WAY TO GO SWITCH You hit a home run on this one. We also had some minor add on power pulls in the house and Switch did this under the same time frame as the generator, solar, and lithium installation. They pulled two additional power circuits for us and make it look like they were there the entire time. These guys are professional, courteous and above everything transparent. Daniel even came back and did a full walkthrough of the Generac generator start up and commissioning himself. Professional and helpful in training. ALL ARE ROCK STARS. Switch customer for life. Negative reviews:

“Initially, I was very happy with the installation of my solar panels and the monitoring service through Solar Edge Monitoring. I was happy until my monitoring service stopped working. I called Switch to find out if they knew why it stopped. I was told it was most likely a software change made by Solar Edge. I called Solar Edge and they advised my system was not sending them updates. Apparently when I switched internet providers the Solar Edge Box could not connect to the internet. I then called Switch asking them if they could update my password. They said sure, but it would cost me $275 to change my password! I paid $24,000 for the system, and they want $275 to update the password? That is not right!” – Roberthager ⭐☆☆☆☆ September 8, 2023

Positive reviews:

“I contacted Switch Electric a few months ago regarding the cost and time frame for installing a system. Jeremy and Brett were very responsive and provided a detailed estimate. The time frame was mid September and the install would not be over five days, Jeremy and Brett finished the install in three days! The first day they explained the process of the install and once completed I was given a complete explanation of each of the components. I would recommend Switch Electric for solar install.” – Melsplace00 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ September 27, 2018

“We’ve had Switch Electric out to do quite a bit of electrical work on our home – everything from adding electric vehicle charging to outlet troubleshooting to running Ethernet cable, and I’ve always been impressed with them and their work. They are always professional, courteous, and the work itself is excellent. This latest project came about fairly quickly – we had previously expressed interest in Solar, and were thinking of doing so next year. In discussing with Tyler in May, he made me aware that the current Washington State incentive was set to reduce at the end of June, so it may be worth running the numbers to see if we could make it work this year instead. Tyler had me follow up with Jeremy if it made sense to go ahead (which it did if we could get it done in time). Jeremy was my main contact for the solar install, and all of my interactions with him just reinforced why I like Switch for all of our electrical work. Jeremy patiently answered all of my questions, and gave me excellent advice on what we didn’t need (for example explaining why I probably didn’t need a battery backup right now given the cost vs benefits).” – Temporalis ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ July 13, 2018

Positive reviews:

“We rely so heavily on electricity in our home for comfort, cooking, and connections, and so decided to investigate adding an emergency generator. Switch comes recommended by COSTCO and so I called them. Their guy came and determined our home’s layout would make installation of a “”permanent”” natural gas-powered generator, such as a Generac, impossible and a backup battery seemed cost-prohibitive. And so, I worked with them to decide on purchasing my own portable “”tri-fuel”” generator from COSTCO. And then Switch Electric came and, in one day, installed the appropriate connections to our natural gas line and electrical breaker box. He stayed until the generator was set up, connected, and the whole system tested. I’m MOST happy with having selected this company and MOST HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM!” – Jon M. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ April 14, 2026

“We are so impressed with Switch Electric! We had a terrible encounter with a fake contractor. Therefore, I did a ton of research before picking our next person. We could not believe that Switch had five stars all across the board. Kory came out and gave us a quote and he was personable, detailed, and incredibly knowledgeable. Then the communication from the front desk was top notch. They were incredibly clear in all their emails and text messages. The quote was reasonable. Jake and Morgan came out for the installation and worked super hard. We were a little bit of a complicated case, but they made it look easy. Truly, Switch takes pride in their work, trains, their people, and extends excellent customer service. We plan to hire them for other electrical issues around the house. Thank you, Switch!” – Suzy V. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ July 31, 2025

Negative reviews:

“Denied a permit was needed when city said otherwise. Electricians would not contact me even though I asked twice. Only did one of two repairs requested at first visit. Had to follow up to get remaining work done. I later learned there was a major problem they failed to inform me of. There were invoicing issues. Talked to owner who takes no responsibility.” – J H. ⭐☆☆☆☆ November 21, 2022

“We hired Switch Electric to install a new power outlet to our garage. We paid them $1.5k for the job. Right after they finished the work, our dryer dedicated breaker started to trip every time we would turn it on. I called switch electric within couple of weeks of the job completion to tell them there was a problem. The response I got was that I would be billed $275 for them to come out and “”troubleshoot”” if it was not their fault. I called them anyways and turns out the wire to the dryer breaker was burnt out. They said this could happen if the connection was loose to begin with. Now we have been living in the house (brand new construction) for over 6 years and had no problems until switch electric did the work of installing new outlet. If the wire was loose to begin with how did things work normally for 6 years!! Obviously the dryer breaker wire was dislodged/loosened during the install of the new outlet, but siwtch electric refused to accept their fault and charged me anyways. This shows a completely lack of integrity and borders on fraudulent behaviour (if I assume they loosened their wire on purpose). Anyways I am not ever going back to them again and would be” – Reallyonthemove T. ⭐☆☆☆☆ November 19, 2022

“Everything went well from the initial quote to the installation. Everyone I worked with was friendly and knowledgeable. I had an EV charger installed, and they talked through all the options and the different costs. On the day of the installation, the team did great work, they cleaned up the worksite, and they communicated clearly.” – Michael M. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ February 2023

“ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY, THE BEST ELECTRICAL TEAM YOU WILL FIND. I have been a Switch customer for 3.5 years, and the owner, Tyler, and his team are exceptional. You know great service and commitment when the owner is on vacation and still answers his phone in the middle of the night. We had an electrical panel blow and catch on fire, and had the fire brigade out for safety. When the lead Fireman looks at you and says, “”you have your electrician coming out right now? Wow, don’t see that very often.””, you know what unparalleled service this team delivers.” – Clark R. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ February 2023

Negative reviews:

“Bryan and Chris showed up on time. They showed us what will be done and answered our questions which is great. They put round paper to where the new lights will be and discussed with us about the location of the new lights. They hung the chandelier professionally and cleaned the bulb containers. They installed dimmer and arc fault. At the end, all lights are installed and working. Problems: 1. Chris keeps dropping screws and other things. After they left, I found dings on our brand new floor which is not cool. 2. To install the 4 new recessed lights, they made 16 holes get the wires across. This seems excessive. Chris doesn’t use a stud finder, he used a magnetic thing to try to find nails on the joist and he’s supposed to drill a hole besides the joist. Among the 16 holes, there are 4 holes with the joist directly above which means they have drilled at the wrong spot. Ideally 12 hole should have been adequate for the job. But I’m no expert. 3. While drilling in the wall, they lost control of the drill and made a ding on the newly painted wall and now I have to fix that too. The job finished in about 4 hours. Bryan is pretty awesome and seems to be more experienced. i wish Chris cares more about the customer property and genuinely care about how many holes the customer has to patch afterwards and try his best to minimize the number of holes to cut to complete the job. All in all, the job wasn’t finished to the level I expect from Switch Electrics who has so many good reviews on Angie’s List. But I can’t say this is a failure either since all the lights are installed and work properly after Bryan and Chris left. That’s why I’m giving it a C.” – Ji Y. ⭐⭐⭐☆☆ August 2017

“Switch Electric did a general update on my 1959 home — bringing it up to code, rewiring it and making sure the permits were in place. This included a basement re-wire (including furnace), putting in a new upgraded panel, and a new meter. It also included running a new dedicated 20A circuit to a microwave. While they did this with a minimum amount of sheetrock damage, the circuit does work and Switch Electric is not responding to fix it. After the initial work, two circuits would short out constantly — the microwave and a general bedroom-area circuit. They came out and fixed the bedroom-area circuit, but just shrugged their shoulders at the microwave circuit. To this day, the microwave throws the breaker every seven or eight times a week. The company is non-responsive to e-mail.” – Kristian J. ⭐☆☆☆☆ March 2016

Positive reviews:

“We have been using Switch for all of our electrical work for the last 10 years. When we needed an outlet installed for our new water heater, they were my first and only call. The technician routed the line exactly as discussed and dropped the outlet next to the heater. They were able to get the inspection done the same day. I look forward to working with them again in the future.” – Kyle Farnung ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ December 2025

“Dan was great to deal with throughout the buildout of my new Pilates facility. He was professional, responsive and wonderfully patient with all my queries and last minute suggestions. His job was comprehensive and he really cared about making sure everything was done correctly. Starting a company is stressful and having someone I could trust with such a vital element of the endeavor made a tremendous impact. I am extremely appreciative for his service and would definitely suggest him.” – Stephanie Remior ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ March 2026

Negative reviews:

“I just wanted to follow-up here in that we decided not to move forward with your services due to the “”required”” sub-panel addition you had in your quote. We of course obtained other quotes and yours happen to be the only one with that requirement added. The bidding process was very similar with your competitors and we provided the exact same pictures to all. We just got the wall charger installed today without the need of that sub-panel and the work permitted immediately after. I was really hoping to give you guys some business having worked previously with one of your techs. I honestly feel now like you were just looking for ways to get more money out of the project unnecessarily which is a sure way to lose your client’s / potential client’s trust. As a consumer, I feel obligated to advise others of my experience here and can only hope the lesson has been learned.” – Maximus Meridius ⭐☆☆☆☆ 2024

“Things started out really well with Tyler but then went South later. There was an electrical problem that he fixed which cost me $2,500. But there was some sort of an oil leak that he told me about and made it sound like it wasn’t much of a problem. During the next power outage when I use the generator it went through a quart of oil in less than 4 hours. He then referred me to Machias Electric because he said he had too much commercial work to mess with my generator. Machias seems eager to work on the generator at first. He came out, realize the size of the generator was more than he could manage to take back to his shop, said he thought he could fix it on site would be back with some parts, and then I never heard from him again. Even after repeated, five to six times, of phone calls and text messages. So far the generator is still working electrically but with extremely poor customer service I would recommend finding someone else.” – Royce Van Blaricome ⭐☆☆☆☆ 2025
