“Worst experience, whatever they promise is not true, I still pay my electric bill and the loan is an average of $900. The salesman told me after installation you need to customer service, i have contacted customer service several times and the same response, they ask for the last electric bill and they will review it and call me back, they never do, I call today and it was the same. I even went to the main office in Richmond talk to 3 directors and the same response you need to contact customer service plus they offered to send me a technician but I never heard from them again. “I have a NO SOLICITING sign on my door and the past 3 or 4 Top Tier salesman failed to read and proceeded to try to sell their services. If you can’t follow simple instructions, it also means you can’t pay attention to detail. So if you can’t follow simple instructions or pay attention to small details, how can I expect bigger details to be followed or adhered to. I have read about 100 reviews about top tier and my consensus is that they average about a 3.5-3.6. l only deal with companies that average 4.5 or higher. “My panels were installed Sept 2023, Since that time I have had 12 of 54 panels stop making power due to optimizers failing. I have also had 1 of 2 invertors fail. All components have a 10 year warranty. Have had multiple appointments for techs to come repair those parts. “This company is the worst! Do not use them or you will regret it! This company is not organized at all. They promise you install times and no call no show. They change your project managers without notice. It has been over three months and my added backup batteries are still not in operation. The job called for 2 days and again it has been 3 months and still not complete. I was promised a 2k incentive for doing business for doing business with them and that never was given to me. You leave messages and no one returns your call. Again, I repeat DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I had to file 2 BBB reports on this company. “Top Tier Solar is truly the best company to go to when you want solar panels for your home!!! Everyone I have interacted with through the company, whether project managers, customer service agents, installation workers, etc., have been very nice, patient, and caring throughout the whole process for my house. It took longer than expected to get the panels activated due to cancellations from the city inspectors unfortunately, but everything Top Tier Solar did on their end was in a timely and effective manner! When I first signed the papers to get the panels, it only took a month for them to send their guys out for the install! Honestly just a great company over all. “The business is difficult to get a hold of as far as customer service. During our install We hardly heard from our project manager during the job and it took 4 months to get it up and running. They told us we would never get a power bill and that was false. We will continue to receive them no matter what. Be aware of the pricing as the equipment is overpriced and to get a technician out to your area is really difficult and they do not work with your schedule, only there’s. “Top Tier Solar misrepresented my energy usage, system performance, savings, tax credits, backup power capability, and failed to disclose a UCC-1 lien. My usage was inflated down to a lower kWh when actual usage was over a higher kWh, materially reducing system offset and value. I entered a long-term loan based on false information. “People definitely don’t always understand what they’re getting into when working here at first. It’s expected you go above and beyond with everything and they are pretty good at enforcing it.That’s going to scare a lot of people away but I appreciate the fact they are holding my feet to the fire. “The workplace ‘culture’ seemed to consist of American flags everywhere and tons of pro-trump stuff. They also made it seem like the job was in concord when it’s really in charlotte. Its basically a door to door sales job and nothing much more. They try to convince people that its worthwhile by saying you could make 20k a month. Also they do NOT pay for training. “I’ve had my system since 2024. Kirsten helped get us set up with our panels. I always wanted solar and she made it work out where we got a low payment and a new roof. Incredible customer service and they actually followed up to make sure everything works properly and if we are happy. We have noticed significant savings. “This company cold-texted to offer to have one of their technicians come to our home to inspect our panels and inverter to ensure our system was working appropriately. We agreed to an inspection. Our appt was at 1:00, a gentleman arrived a 2:00. Instead of asking where our panel and inverter is- he asked to come in. He promptly went into a sales pitch for an $18K consumption battery. High pressure sales tactics, scare tactics to commit to a purchase at that point. Even called his regional sales manager to help pressure the sale after I said I would not make a decision that moment. There was never a conversation about the audit the lead to them being at our home. I texted back the number that setup the appointment, two different numbers both responded- after I confronted them with the sales pressure, they both thought they were setting up appts for a systems audit. “This place is a total scam. All they do is try to sell you on lies. Even though we felt something was off, they pushed us through the process as quickly as possible capitalizing on the fact that my husband and I work separate schedules (telling him one thing and me another) and passing the buck. They overloaded our circuit box so they wouldn’t have to wrap it into the loan and lied and told us we could add panels to the load after buying an electric vehicle and when you contact someone for put those promises into action, they tell you ‘we don’t do that’ and then try to get you to sell to other people to get you more panels to ‘fix the problem.’ And they buy all their 5 star reviews! They reached out to me with a gift card before the installation process ever started and before I realized how garbage they are and then I couldn’t locate the review once they botched the job.
