What do Customers Say about the Westhaven Power?
Positive reviews:
“Called for help and informatiin on the Tesla Powerwall system they installed for the previous home owner. Was immediately impressed that not only did they answer their phones, but gave me clear instructions on what we needed to do and followed up with us along the way. Just got off tge phone with Tracy, who was a wealth of information and a huge help. I will be calling them to install Tesla batteries on my other property. They are amazing.” – TvP ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ August 15, 2024
“We had Westhaven install a solar system in 2019 and its the best decision we ever made! They did an exceptional installation. Since then, we have experienced issues with our Inverter (Solar Edge). Westhaven has done an incredible job of assisting us in resolving our inverter issues. The issues had nothing to do with the installation. They were Solar Edge manufacturing or equipment issues, yet Westhave has stood by their warranty and made sure our issues were resolved. Tracy is a terrific customer service representative and is very professional, polite and does a great job of communicating. It makes us feel good to know that we can count on Westhaven to take care of our solar system. Great job Tracy!!” – Lynne ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ July 1, 2022
Negative reviews:
“This company is not one you wish to do business with. They are liars all the way from the sales guy to the owner. Not a single person I’ve met that has system through them is happy with the quality of it and the service provided by westhaven. The warranty they offer isn’t a warranty. It’s just a meaningless sales tactic to make you feel safe with your purchase because they will not honor it at any cost. Don’t think the contract you signed or the in writing words from the salesperson mean anything. They have and will tell you the same thing, we will not honor it. 3 houses, 3 systems all with issues and every one of them told sure well send someone out at $200 an hour to look into it for you and then $200 an hour to repair. What happened to the warranty on everything for 25 years? Beware and shop around because this is the last thing you want to deal with when spending 40k or more is to get told to kick rocks when something goes wrong.” – Jc ⭐☆☆☆☆ August 23, 2025
“Do not get involved with this company, there is no management or knowledge of what they are doing. Scheduled a service for our generac 3 weeks out and we’re called the day before they can’t do the service because they’re not certified !!! Looking for a new company that will take care of their customers. Totally worthless and have had issues in the past !! Don’t deal with them!! Only headaches !!” – John L ⭐☆☆☆☆ May 17, 2023
Positive reviews:
“Had solar installed and then a new pool pump months later. As soon as the pump was installed I lost power to a room and pump wouldn’t start. Pool guy left and I contacted WH. I would have had an emergency call that day so I waited and in meantime found another electrician to come. Biggest mistake ever! He told me I need an entire new electrical system to replace my circuit panels and left with still no power. Fast forward to today – William with WH sent Jason out to me to take a look! In less than an hour he identified the issues (there were a few but it was all pump wire related AND got my pump working! Thank you JASON- you were kind and thorough and got the job done right! And WH has stayed in contact with me keeping me up to date on my solar installed steps! Great job by all and local to boot!” – Lori T. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ August 5, 2025
“I have a Westhaven system installed on my home. Everyone that has seen it compliments how clean the installation is. It looks like the home was built with it. Best part is that it just plain works. I’ve had zero issues. It provides all the electricity I use through the year. I have zero true up bill and pay $10/month for power. The sales team makes everything very clear. The installation team respected my home, was on time, picked up after themselves and delivered on the companies promises. Highly recommend.” – Steven A. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ June 10, 2024
Negative reviews:
“Do not do business with this company!! At any cost save yourself! They are liars and will say anything to get a sale. There is NO warranty no matter what they say. They charge $200 an hour to even look at your system after it breaks weeks after install. I own 3 houses all with solar installed by west haven. Every system has issues and they will not warranty anything. They tell you to reach out to the manufacturer who then tells you to reach out to your installer for warranty. Every person I’ve ever talked to with westhaven has some sort of major issues with their experience. They are a nightmare: and they are the most expensive too!” – John M. ⭐☆☆☆☆ August 21, 2025
“A word of warning about Westhaven Power. Their contract is front end loaded, so you pay a sizeable sum of money when the equipment for your project is in their warehouse and not on your site (who knows). Secondly you pay a sizeable sum of money when the equipment is installed, but is not working, as in my case. Thirdly, the remainder of the money, which is a pittance, is due after inspection by the building dept, which is of little priory of Westhaven to complete as new installations takes priority. If entering into a contract, change wording to, equipment on site before first installment, installed equipment working and operating before second installment. On a good note, the installers were professional and did and excellent job (except leaving before system was operable).” – Robert B. ⭐⭐☆☆☆ May 17, 2023
Negative reviews:
“Stay far away from this company. They do not honor their work no matter what they tell you when signing up. Once they are paid that’s it. There is no warranty, no support no anything. If the system works then you are lucky, 3 houses, 3 problems, 0 solutions and 0 ever warrantied.” – john ⭐☆☆☆☆ August 24, 2025
“RED FLAG, PLEASE RETHINK BEFORE HIRING THIS COMPANY!! We hired Westhaven Power to install solar panels on our roof in 2020. Since then, we have had constant leaks in our roof right where the solar panels are. The company has come out to “fix” it several times, however, each “fix” was temporary and we have had to continue to call them to repair the leak in our roof caused by the solar install. Sometimes we have had to wait MONTHS for them to come out as well, because they are no longer located in Humboldt County, and they have had to wait for their workers to be “available” before they can justify making the drive. About a week ago, we got another leak, and instead of coming to fix it, they said because we were past our 3 year warranty they were no longer “responsible” for repairing the problem THEY caused. This feels entirely unethical. The emotional stress that this problem has caused us has made the solar panels completely not worth it. The right thing to do would have been to find the root cause of the issue and repair it the first time, instead of insufficiently repairing it several times. The front end customer service is friendly, but the service department seems to lack compassion or a sense of responsibility. Find your solar panels elsewhere.” – Nicole ⭐☆☆☆☆ November 26, 2024
Positive reviews:
“Westhaven is great company, received everything i was promised my $3000.00 discount my tax credit. No problems with equipment from *******. ***** great to work with let me know about hold *** with PG&E on permits and sign off to use solar. Clean design, install no money down got 36 panels for $68,000.00 fin. payment of ****** month 5% loan. No PG&E ****!!! other than your manatory fee to stay hooked up. Important westhaven are installers not sub-contractors. Been a happy customer for 2 years” – maliko M ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ May 25, 2024
Negative reviews:
“Westhaven has been HORRIBLE to work with! They get you for thousands of dollars and then when your system fails, they charge you an hourly repair fee even when youre under warranty, then they leave and you check your solar app again and its still not producing a month later. Then they say, I did you the favor and contacted solar edge and they will push through an update but that will take ***** hours. Meanwhile I am paying on the solar loan and now a hefty true up. Highly dissatisfied with the service.” – Alexis W ⭐☆☆☆☆ April 19, 2024
“What started as a good relationship, in the long run, ended with disappointing results. I bought my solar in 2015, with Westhaven being the installation sub-contractor. I had 25 year warranted on the panels and micro-converters from ****, and 10 years parts & labor from Westhaven. The system went down in 2021 and when I received my true-up from **** in Sep 2022, I called Westhaven to come check it out. They didnt send anyone out until March, 2023 and after informing me that their name brand processor wasnt working, they said that I would have to pay for the processor and the labor would be $200.00 per hour. After one way communication, trying to get someone to respond to my emails and phone calls for three months, I was notified that they were no longer a sub-contractor for ***** and had no responsibility to fix my system. When I notified ****, they confirmed that they no longer had an association with Westhaven. ****** then scheduled another sub-contractor to come out and not only replaced the processor, but all of the micro-converters. Since then, my energy usage has decreased by 50% each month and my true-up is the lowest it has been in two years. Too bad Westhaven wasnt worried about their reputation. It seems to have started going downhill when they changed ownership. Poor customer service, no communication with customers after purchasing systems, and not honoring their contracts is the main reasons for giving them a 1-star. Dont use them if you dont have to.” – Roy J ⭐⭐☆☆☆ August 19, 2023
Positive reviews:
“Phenomenal Company to work with. Down to Earth Management team. Expectations are clear and commissions always paid on time. Project tracker and checklist so I always knew where my projects where and what needed to be done. Highly recommended for all dealers and internal sales reps.” – Executive Recruiter in Yuba City, CA ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ May 6, 2024
“Great Place to work! Westhaven is a melting pot of salt to the earth folks. All the way from sales to the installation teams, accounting and project management, everyone has a strong drive to succeed. I wont say there is no stress, because there is always stress in times of turmoil, especially with he wildfires in California, the pandemic, supply chain issues, the stress is there but the vision ability to solve the problems are also there. I would recommend Westhaven for anyone to work that wants to get a knowledge of the solar trade or wants to learn construction.” – Process Manager in 800 North Gate ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ December 8, 2021
Positive reviews:
“From meeting Energy Consultant Jeff, to having the measurements and permits from Will to the installation by Brian and his crew was less than ONE MONTH. Working with Aoki and Karan in the office was easy and every question and concern was immediately answered. There is a 20 plus pages information guide online about the company and their procedures and also a you tube on each step is sent so a person knows what is going on. This is from the owner, who has also written a book. The company and employees are very professional, efficient and thorough. FIVE stars are not enough.” – Susan Kinder ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ October 2025
“Recently, we had our roof replaced which required our solar panels be removed and then re installed. Daniel and Jason from Westhaven Power did a fabulous job, thaking the panels down and today reinstalling then. Our solar looks great and is working perfectly. William at Westhaven Power worked with us on the project schedule and made sure our down time was minimal. Wonderful experience.” – Deirdre Todd-Miller ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ October 2025
Negative reviews:
“Absolute disrespect for homeowners. We have a NO SOLICITING sign on our door. Westhaven Power decided to leave a door hanger anyway! If they are this blatant and disrespectful of homeowners, they deserve no stars. Never will they earn our business!!” – B Me ⭐☆☆☆☆ October 23, 2025
“This company is a joke. They installed inverters that are smaller then the panels can handle (to save a few hundred dollars) so on real sunny days i have inverter clipping. I have reached out to them multiple times and they say nothing is wrong. Save your money and go with someone else.” – Forrest Gibson ⭐☆☆☆☆ September 2025
Summarizing:
Do we recommend Westhaven Power services?
Average Performer
Westhaven Power gets the Average Performer badge and works in 1 state, but their third-party ratings don’t go above 4. Local community trust isn’t their strong suit either – their score is 3.9 in our evaluation. This badge means they are somehow reliable, but you need to pay more attention to what they have to offer. While Westhaven Power may not lead the pack, they are certainly recognized for their capacity to meet a broad range of solar installation needs with commendable customer satisfaction. When considering this solar installer, you can add Westhaven Power to your list as a lower priority and one that requires additional research before you decide to work with them.
