What do Customers Say about the Fire Mountain Solar?
Positive reviews:
“I’m exceedingly pleased to provide the highest possible review and recommendation for Fire mountain Solar! Received complete and thorough explanation of process, products, operation, incentives and Instalation. The couple of problems which arose through no fault of Fire Mountain were addressed with consistent professionalism until they were resolved to our complete satisfaction. Project looks great and performs even better than originally explained and promised! Just got our first electric bill for full month. Regular bill for same period last year was around $127. This year it was $15! And $7.79 of that was the basic monthly charge for the meter. And we’re not yet into peak production. We could not be happier and would unreservedly recommend Fire Mountain.” – manni7 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ April 13, 2016
“We loved working with Fire Mountain on our solar project. They set great expectations and met them. Everyone on our site was super professional and knowledgeable. In fact, they will be putting another system on our house for a battery back up in January.” – kschmidt ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ December 23, 2015
Positive reviews:
“fire mt. provided service above and beyound, they redesigned my system so it wa not in the shadow of my chimy which reluted in even power across my panels vs 2 being shadowed for 4 hours every day. Their communications was excellent and timely. Their pricing was very competive and service and cleanup was ececeptional.” – Darrell Macke ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ October 10, 2025
“I couldn’t be happier with my experience! From start to finish, the team provided excellent communication and took the time to educate me throughout the entire process. Every step was clear, and I always felt informed and confident in the decisions being made. The installation itself was smooth, efficient, and handled with professionalism. The crew was respectful, detail-oriented, and clearly took pride in their work. My system looks great and is running perfectly. I would highly recommend this company to anyone considering solar—outstanding service, knowledgeable staff, and a job well done!” – Andrew ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ August 26, 2025
Negative reviews:
“I hired FMS 8 years ago to install a hybrid solar/ wind system and Tim did nothing right in the installation. He told me the wrong wire size to bury for the wind turbine ($1,500), wrong size pipe for the solar rack ($400), and the wiring is a mess. right now I am working with an electrician to get it all cleaned up and I’m looking at another $5,000 to get that done. Before you hire FMS, do some research and find a quality installer.” – unhappy guy ⭐☆☆☆☆ October 23, 2013
“Fire Mountain Solar (five stars) was a nice clean installation. The same could not be said for the electrical contractor they used. (one star) I am planning the installation of another inverter at a later time. I discussed my future plans with the contractor and we came to a solution which would create a minimum of modification of the installed system. But instead of keeping the new inverter as close to the existing sub-panel, he did not mount it using the minimal distance (1” suggested by manufacturer), used existing conduit which I told them I had installed for a specific separate purpose, ran wires through the sub-panel which makes the wiring of the sub-panel much more difficult, and placed a large conduit on the surface of the wall instead of under the surface as I had requested. As a result, when I add more equipment, I will have to t
Positive reviews:
“Great first experience! Was referred to this company by a B2B Solar Supplier in the Seattle area. I requested a quote and quickly received a reply and recommendations for current rack mounting components. Alana at Fire Mountain was knowledgeable and ensured I had the items I needed along with pricing before placing the order. I ordered on a Friday and picked up the racking materials the following Thursday; perfect for my timeline. Will absolutely be using this company again!” – Jake O. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ July 28, 2025
“Impossible to rate them higher! When two other solar companies gave us higher bids and groused about how they’d have to trench more lines to the rv garage where the solar panels would be installed, and the “regular” electricians recommended we “not bother” with solar and claimed it wouldn’t pay for itself, we drove up the hill to talk to Fire Mountain Solar. The owner jumped into his truck, followed us down the hill to our home, told us immediately that what we wanted could be done without extra trenching and gave us the most reasonable bid of the three we got. The project came in right on budget and ahead of schedule! Before the PUD came to install a new smart meter, it was fun watching the little meter wheel run backward as the sun was shining!” – Maria W. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ April 1, 2023
Positive reviews:
“These people fixed a huge problem for me with an incorrectly installed system. They have great communication and fair pricing. I found the entire experience restored my faith in my choice to have solar installed and my wallet thanks me. I confidently recommend this company. They are honest.” – Karagush ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ October 2025
“Just finished my installation and this company is marvelous. I had such a weird amalgamation of parts that they were able to leverage and put a good 3300W array on the roof. Installation was quick and painless, and they went thru and explained all the things that they installed so I knew how the system worked and to keep it safe. I will 100% be calling them again whenever I might need more panels.” – Chris Voss (hatfarm) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ October 2025
Negative reviews:
“I tried to discuss equipment options with this company and spoke with Katee a few months ago. She claimed to have vast industry experience. I was appalled by her lack of understanding that batteries do indeed consume power. Hey, Katee, maybe learn the difference between a contactor based LiFePO4 battery and a MOSFET based LiFePO4 battery? You might also contact Fortress and SimpliPhi and ask them what their batteries consume. Katee also claimed that only commercial operations would need two Sol-Ark 12k’s. I often hit well over 14kw in the summer. If I’d listened to Katee, I’d be tripping my system all summer long. Finally, I was told I would need to spend $200/hr for a consult to discuss specific equipment I was interested in. No thanks!” – Doodles TheGoose ⭐☆☆☆☆ November 2023
