What Do Customers Say About the Wolf River Electric?
Positive reviews:
“All three companies I looked at had great potential. Overall, the best value for me was Wolf River — they are using essentially the same equipment as the most expensive option, albeit with one less battery, for a lot less money. If we find a need for that second battery in the future we will reach out. EnergySage’s prescreening of companies was great, and the summaries really helped focus my search and clarify the differences between companies.” – Ttlvdt ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ July 11, 2025
“Wolf River was generally great. The original quote had to be refreshed because I had not taken action at the time of the first quote — where other companies altered their quotes to increase revenue, Wolf River’s quote was consistent with the previous bid and included a better panel. The project manager left midway through, but his replacement was excellent, going so far as to bring a bobcat to move panels that were dropped on our neighbor’s verge. The installers fit an additional panel on the south-facing exposure, a win in my book. The project manager followed up to make sure we were happy with the system and how it was generating. We are.” – Harry B. Funk ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ February 2, 2024
Negative reviews:
“Quote request parameters were essentially ignored. Way too many panels and costs were abnormally high. I checked Project Sunroof as well as EnergySage for typical costs and Project Sunroof had a far better idea of the power needed and where to place the panels. I don’t know why anyone would place panels on a north-facing side when you have a large south-facing roof in full sunlight.” – Energy-sage.coherence924 ⭐⭐☆☆☆ April 8, 2026
“I started the process with Wolf River in August. They insisted I needed to get financing for them to access my garage and told me there was absolutely no financial risk if the project didn’t go through. After months of inconsistent and conflicting answers, they told me they had major concerns about my garage. So I asked Wolf River to cancel the project. Now I’m being told I’m on the hook for closing costs of almost $1,200. Wolf River told me several times there was no financial risk of cancelling and is not taking responsibility for any of this. Trying to work with customer service to resolve this has also been a nightmare.” – Lindsey Ann Dodge ⭐☆☆☆☆ April 20, 2026
Positive reviews:
“Wolf River came out and installed a 16th panel. Everything works — the panel, the connection to Enphase, and the connection to Xcel. The layout looks planned and symmetrical, and the guys were great. What’s great about Wolf River is that they hire a lot of electricians, so the guys know what they’re doing. Be warned that the permitting process with both the city and Xcel takes quite a while — mainly the application approval and document signing.” – J W. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ October 31, 2025
“We were not really interested in solar at first due to our age, but after a few minutes of explanation we agreed to take things further. The sales representative was friendly and knowledgeable, explaining everything from start to finish. We filled out an application, qualified, and were on their schedule within 4 hours. Wolf River takes care of all the permits, design, and installation. How simple can that be. I would suggest calling Wolf River Electric for information on solar energy.” – Thomas G. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ December 5, 2024
Negative reviews:
“Do not use, unless you enjoy having to go to court to get your money back. They signed an agreement with me about 7 months ago and have not and will not complete the contract. After at least 37 emails, countless phone calls and texts, conversations with two people claiming to be upper management, and talking with at least 8 different people, nothing has been done. They could simply say they’re sorry and refund my deposit. Instead, I will have to sue to get my deposit back. Read the reviews — it can and will happen to you.” – Cody B. ⭐☆☆☆☆ February 1, 2026
“We were sold solar panels but have a large tree in our yard and don’t get enough sun. The salesperson never said anything and just sold us the panels. When I called, the sales guy conveniently no longer works there. Very poor customer service — called several times with no response. In the end we are stuck paying for solar panels and electricity because we don’t have enough sun. Have requested compensation but haven’t heard back. Save yourself a headache — don’t use this company.” – Pam K. ⭐☆☆☆☆ October 31, 2025
Positive reviews:
“It was good to work with Wolf River to install the solar system. Our sales associate Josh is easy to talk to, helpful, and able to design a system that fits our house. The team was also able to help with the HOA.” – Favio S. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ April 15, 2026
“Wolf River was excellent! They handled everything on our solar installation — very responsive, respectful of our property, and kept us updated on what to expect at every step. They kept their word on what they promised. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. If you are thinking about solar, they need to be your first call!” – Jeanine C. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ April 12, 2026
Negative reviews:
“Wolf River has been nothing short of a headache. More than 15 months in, we have lost our solar array — which was working just fine until this project — and today they installed a defective interior inverter. We financed, so they have already been paid. Do your research and find a second or third contractor based on customer ratings, price, and project timeline.” – Chef B. ⭐☆☆☆☆ April 6, 2026
Positive reviews:
“The online setting works well for me because it keeps me from being distracted. I stay driven because the company gives me chances to move up. Talking to people every day has built my confidence. This is a good spot for growth and flexibility.” – Sales Representative ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ November 22, 2025
“Installing panels and different solar systems on a day-to-day basis. I really enjoyed the people I worked with and management is very understanding if someone is going through something.” – Electrical Apprentice ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ February 10, 2025
Negative reviews:
“Absolutely terrible. Their metrics for actually making money are almost impossible — you need four people to sit down for appointments, but when you’re on the phones, they rarely have appointments available that week. It’s a constant cycle of chasing the hope of making $700 per week but probably making $150. Run.” – Telemarketer ⭐☆☆☆☆ April 4, 2026
“Constantly showing up to jobs with little to no material and homeowners are hardly ever informed when the crew will arrive. Little to no training structure is in place for field jobs, and getting your 6-month review is likely to never happen, making it almost impossible to get raises or advance. I would never work for this company again.” – Anonymous ⭐☆☆☆☆ February 1, 2026
Positive reviews:
“We had 25 solar panels installed. They were clean, professional and on time. One problem we had was taken care of very fast. We did have a rain delay so material needed to be relocated in our driveway — in half an hour they were out and moved it for us. My carpet was cleaner after they left than before they arrived.” – Wilnerson L. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 2023
“Our solar installation process with Wolf River Electric was top-notch. The team was efficient, fast, and consistently responsive to all of our questions. I have already recommended them to many of my neighbors and friends.” – Kervin A. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 2023
Negative reviews:
“The sales team are nothing but liars. They claimed the panels installed would pay for the entire utility bill — wrong, they only cover about half of my electric use. So not only am I still paying my local utility company, I am also paying a hefty finance bill. I also never saw a penny of the supposed rebates — $750 from Wolf River and $500 from the local utility company. Do not let these door-to-door salespeople into your home.” – David W. ⭐☆☆☆☆ March 2026
“Our sales rep told us our solar system would create enough power to offset our electric usage and our solar payment, with the exception of December and January. He also told us that clearing some snow off the panels in winter would be enough as they would generate heat to clear the rest. He referred to the Federal Energy Tax Credit as a rebate and said we could use that money to pay down the system. These statements were misleading. According to the rep, the system would end up being essentially free, but instead this system is costing me $500 a month, not including electricity costs when the system isn’t producing enough due to weather.” – Jim P. ⭐☆☆☆☆ 2025
Positive reviews:
“Wolf River Team did a great job and cleaned up the site like they were never there when done. Communication with the site leader and project manager was great. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to complete a solar project.” – Chris Morgan ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ February 2026
“Wolf River Electric was able to meet our solar goals on a reasonable timeline that accommodated my busy schedule. Their staff was polite, attentive, informative, and responsive. When we decided we would need roofing done before the solar install, their sister company Wolf River Construction was at the ready. In the end I feel we have gotten a product worth what we paid for it.” – Reid Bowers ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ January 2026
Negative reviews:
“Things have gone from bad to worse with Wolf River Electric. I started the process in August. Absolute nightmare to work with. Terrible communication. Inconsistent and false information.” – Lindsey Dodge Habben ⭐☆☆☆☆ April 2, 2026
