We ultimately went with another installer not associated with energysage for several reasons, but after talking with Mike I was fully confident about the integrity of their company and was confident that they would provide a quality installation and stand behind their work. There are quite a few fly-by-night solar agents out there, but 3 Guys Solar is not one of them. Their customer satisfaction ratings are uniformly high. “I was told with the 31 panels it would cover my power use based on the previous yearly use. This has not been the case and now I’m paying more per month with the power bills and making payments on the solar panels. I also think it would have been more effective if some of the panels were put on the top of the west side of the roof that gets a lot of sun. Instead they put all the panels on the east side of the roof all the way down to the bottom of the roof, and that doesn’t get much sun light. “I have had a good experience from beginning to end. The sales person that I spoke with explained how everything works and explained what options were available. The team that came out to install the solar panels were professional and friendly. They cleaned up the work site each day and made sure that everything was working. 3 Guys Solar took care of all of the paper work and applications with Duke Energy to get my solar panels connected to the grid. They monitor the equipment and have called me to schedule times for someone to show up any time things were not quite right. Once the panels were connected to the grid the system was generating plenty of electricity and working exactly as expected. “I used a solar coop and 3 guys was the contractor of choice. They did a fantastic job selling, but after that the service significantly suffered. Getting a return phone call or email took multiple attempts and eventually complaints. Scheduling was unprofessional and had no shows. The product has been good. But, the installers were clearly not fully up to the task. One was watching instructional videos of how to wire the inverters while doing the installation. Trash was left all over the yard. After complaining they had to relocate poorly installed inverters (literally over my windows) and panels digging into the roof. The supervisor recognized the issues immediately and didn’t argue but it was plenty of additional holes in my roof and stucco from a poorly done job to begin with. All and all it has been a frustrating experience. I saved money on install but the system has had issues and I would have paid more just to have it done professionally. “I have 3 guys solar take off my panels so I could get a new roof. They took off the panels in a timely manner. Installing the panels was less than desirable. 1. Panels were not being placed as they were originally. 2. Panels were not installed flat so there were mismatches from one panel to the next. 3. One panel was shattered but still installed and I had to find it. 4. Water bottles were left on the roof under the panels. 5. They didn’t have the proper tools for Tesla Panels. 6. “Our solar install from 3 Guys Solar was fast, affordable, and professional. We were matched with 3 Guys through a program from Solar United Neighbors which provided group pricing discounts. They were less expensive than the quotes we received a year earlier and the system they proposed was the largest Tier 1 system we could use.In our first month, our panels produced far more electricity than we expected. Our total cost for electricity was reduced from several hundred dollars the same month last year to just $5.01. As the peak cooling season approaches and the AC will be running more, we don’t expect near-zero bills over the summer. But that will change as fall approaches and we get into winter. “At initial contract and installation 3 Guys Solar, business ethics was phenomenal. All reps and office management worked extremely well to produce a satisfying experience. They ensured me my bill will be down to zero when I installed in 2020. Fast forward 5 years, I have a utility bill of $241 due September 5th and to top off my frustration, I had to hire another company to add more panels to offset 3 Guys Solar lack of producing energy. I have emailed and tried calling 3 Guys Solar multiple times. I even had another Solaf company (Sunrun) call, to no avail. I feel, I have no other choice but, to write this disheartening review. I trusted this company with my home and my money and they let me down. I can count on one finger my Duke Energy Bill being at zero. What a disappointment hiring 3 Guys Solar was.” – N. “I contracted with them to install two Tesla power walls September 1, 2022 and paid them a deposit of $2,460 (10% of the order). I contacted them in January 2023 what was happening to my order. I was told they were waiting for Tesla to ship the order. Back when I placed the order, they said they had the panels in stock. Apparently not. In March 2023 I asked them again about my order. Andy White said they just received the Tesla order and sent me a picture of some Tesla power walls. He claimed they could now do the install in the next couple of weeks. So I asked for a firm install date. Pure silence, no response at all. So I cancelled the order and requested my deposit back. To this date, there was no Notice to Owner, no permit pulled, no on-site inspection, absolutely nothing. And they’re not responding to my request for a return of my deposit. This company does not provide what they promise and do not reply to their customers. Stay away from this company. I should have read some of their reviews before. “3 guys solar did a PV solar install for me in Winter Garden. It hasn’t been quite a year yet but I am very happy so far. I got quotes from 5 companies and decided on 3 guys. They weren’t the cheapest but were in the bottom half. I like the technology they suggested for my installation (optimizers and main inverter). The sales person was very knowledgeable and communicated the process and schedule very well. The 3 installers were amazing. Finished the whole install in 2 days. The Duke meter change out was the bottle neck (took about 2 weeks, electric company is the hold up not 3 guys). The data connection from the box was bad after installation but was replace by 3 guys quickly with little effort from me. The only complaint would be we under-powered our system a little bit (thinking we need about 10% to 15%) We just moved into the house and only had 6 months of bills so getting an accurate would be a challenge. I did request the ability to expand the production if we did under shoot a little. I will reach out to them soon to see about expanding and update the review with the results. “Be careful about inviting 3 Guys Solar to your neighborhood, once they’re done for the day they’ll tear apart your neighbors garbage (neatly stacked for collection) on the way out, leaving shards of broken glass all over the sidewalk. As soon as this box was pushed over, the employee hopped into his van and left rather than clean up the mess he made. Pretty surprising he’d do it in a work truck with the company logo plastered all over. I wouldn’t trust these clowns to install high voltage systems on my house, would you? “It has been more than 3 months now, I saw the review on here and I thought I was going to be in good hands. Boyyyyyyyyyyyyy I was wrong. The solar panels are not producing. 3guys came cut the trees branches and addition I cut more of the tree branches myself, still no production from the solar panel 3guys installed.I really would like this solar to work, when I ask 3guys solar a way to work out a deal to pay off the loan I got, since the solar isn’t working like their promise it would.
