What Do Customers Say About the Ambia Solar?
Positive reviews:
“I got my roof replaced and then the solar install. Both crews worked hard and did great quality installs. They listened to my concerns and explained how they resolve them. I am very satisfied with the results. My sales person Ben, took the time to explain the products and benefits and kept me appraised of the process from signature to finalizing the contract and how to apply for tax rebates.” – Shanon ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ January 3, 2026
“We had some oddness with our roof delay our remodeling. “The installers did a great job explaining the issue and working on a solution. Ambia took care of all the technical details, including permits, installation and inspections. I have a particular thanks to Brogan and Benjamin for their expertise and devotion.” – RBS ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ December 23, 2025
Negative reviews:
“This company is very unorganized and unprofessional. The process started out fine, our sales person was nice and informative. Once we signed the agreements and got things going, that’s when everything seemed to start falling apart and I started to second guess our decision. We had to sign the same forms multiple times due to error. Once they scheduled our installation they said it would take one, maybe two days to complete. They’ve been to our home to continue the installation at least six different days, so I had to continually take off of work. The first day of the installation went well, I thought. But then I got a call that evening saying that the entire crew had been fired but not to worry because someone else would be there to finish the next day. Well one of the people that were fired, ending up coming back the next day as well and was being paid off the books. Needless to say, the job was not finished and I still do not have my panels working. It’s going on around seven months since we originally started this project. The solar panels are installed now and I got an email saying the installation is complete 30 days ago and that I would hear back with next steps.” – Angelica ⭐☆☆☆☆ March 20, 2026
“The sales representative lied to our face and when Ambia was contacted their response was “”Do you have that in writing?”” Their attitude was why should we care. Not our problem. Getting solar was worst possible decision. Promised no more power bill. Fact after getting the panels we have seen little reduction in the electric bill. Promised that our electric cost would go down. In fact it has now more than doubled with the solar payment bill. Finance terms were not what was explained. Promised on monthly payment. Now find out that for first 18 months only paying interest and then the amount will be increased to include principle payment. At the present time we are considering legal recourse. Do not buy from Ambia. Not worth the disappointment.” – Phillip Huggins ⭐☆☆☆☆ January 12, 2026
Negative reviews:
“My system was installed in October and it is STILL NOT ON! They give excuse after excuse and every time Ameren comes out to do an inspection the system install fails. I do not recommend this company. I just got off of the phone with Tyler, in the Ambia inspections department, and he was going to connect me with the interconnections department so they could tell me when these problems would be resolved. Of course, they weren’t available. While wring this review, the interconnections rep just called me and naturally, he was of no help whatsoever. His suggestion was for me to wait for the field rep to call me. I have spoken to every team about why this system isn’t up and running and there is always a run around. I will be contacting all of the consumer advocacy/fraud agencies to report Ambia for their business practices. I suggest everyone who has been on this merry-go-round do the same.” – Cricket .. ⭐☆☆☆☆ February 24, 2026
“Please do not use these people. It has been almost 1 year and our solar panels have not been turned on. There has always been one thing our another thing happen. They have missed the last 3 times they have said they were coming out to fix the problem. What we thought would be a good thing has turned into a nightmare. If could go lower than 1 star I would. Stay away from these people. They do not know what they are doing.” – James C. ⭐☆☆☆☆ February 19, 2026
Positive reviews:
“The friendly and efficient installers did a great job putting on our panels on a cold but sunny winter day. They only needed attic access for a short time, so they were just a minor disruption to our day inside. They set up a workshop on the side of the house on top of the snow and cleaned up after themselves before leaving. We look forward to seeing the results and utilizing solar energy.” – Carol N ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ January 5, 2026
“The process was smooth and easy from start to finish. From having the program explained and the procedures to complete the project being explained to the final installation of the panels and equipment we’re very satisfied. Looking forward to the system being turned on and seeing the benefits of going solar. Everyone we had contact with was very professional and helpful, especially our sales representative REMOVED, he’s been in contact with us throughout this process.” – Patricia S ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ August 29, 2025
Negative reviews:
“High pricing and aggressive. I signed a contract for solar installation. First off, there is a program where the electric company buys solar back from you and Ambia never mentions this. They dont mention it because they actually keep that $ (its only a few hundred $ a year but it does exist and they hide it from consumers). I had the install set but 8 days prior I called to cancel. First I called the lender, who canceled the loan. Then I called Ambia. My salesperson immediately called and asked why. I explained it was a private matter but had to cancel. Never heard anything until 7 days later the delivery company tried to drop off the panels. I told them not to. Then Ambia texted me saying they had no record of me canceling (a lie because the salesperson called after I called the company- on a recorded line- to cancel). They wanted $4100+ cancelation fee. Now- I DID have the ductwork performed and said I would pay for that but that is between $2-3000 not $4100. I emailed their customer service outlining my displeasure and legalities including the failure to disclose the aggregate solar sellback. Received email back confirming they HAD received the original cancelation (so unwittingly admitting to a lie). Today the installers showed up. So either they have horrific internal communication or they did not tell the installers on purpose- hoping Id just relent and let it continue (although they have nothing to install because I also turned away the delivery man they also didnt tell to cancel). They continue to text me wanting to authorize that $4100 payment so they can complete the cancelation. Seems very scammy and persistent to the point of stalkerish. Plus the dishonestly claiming I never canceled. My advise to others is- if you want solar- do not use Ambia.” – Melissa G ⭐☆☆☆☆ August 28, 2025
“I would give this firm 0 stars if I could. My experience with Ambia Solar/Energy has been very disappointing. On the day of the appointment the installer came to assess our roof and straight away said they would not be going forward with the installation of solar panels since the roof required replacing. This was disappointing and surprising, particularly since no issues had been identified throughout the sales process. So we decided to discontinue the project at that moment. But then a representative from Ambia, REMOVED got in touch and said he would include the cost of a new roof in our loan. We said no and emphasized our wish to cancel. REMOVEDthen told us we would be charged a $650 cancellation fee. I opposed to this vehemently since I feel this might have been prevented had the first salesman, REMOVED, carefully examined the roof during his initial examination. After a lot of back and forth the firm decided to waive the cancellation charge.Soon later, I got a charge for $2,000. When I asked about it REMOVEDsaid it was for another service the sealing our ducts. This was never explicitly explained as a separate payment to us. During the sales process, REMOVED informed us duct sealing was a mandatory element of the installation and did not state it was a separate service or that we would be responsible for the whole payment if the job was cancelled. I felt ripped off and taken advantage of @ REMOVEDsummary This seems misleading I would not suggest Ambia to anybody. This has been an unpleasant, stressful and expensive affair.” – Melissa W ⭐☆☆☆☆ July 11, 2025

Negative reviews:
“Training took too long, I learned a lot though. Bad communication, good training but highly unethical Management. Culture was toxic and negative. The office manager took too long to respond and didn’t follow up with training in a good amount of time.” – Solar Sales Representative ⭐☆☆☆☆ January 30, 2026
“They don’t care about there employees hires people with no experience and take 4 hours to figure out how to press a button to turn the system on and pays them more then a person with years of experience” – Field Technician ⭐☆☆☆☆ October 22, 2025
Positive reviews:
“The crew that installed our new panels did a great job. They were very professional and polite. They were very approachable and answered any questions I had. Negative reviews:
“This company is a fraud. They will sell you a bill of goods that you will NOT be happy with. BEWARE STAY AWAY My power bill was 175- 225 per month with Ambia Solar it is between 100 – 150 per month plus 185 for Ambia Solar…..It just won’t add up and Ambia Solar will not help me at all.?..” – Markz Dirks ⭐☆☆☆☆ December 2025
“WOULD NOT RECOMMEND, STAY AWAY. What seemed like such a wonderful addition to our home and neighborhood, we only have regrets after having our panels ~7 months now. Very friendly sales person who answered all our questions and who made it seem like a sure-thing (“it’s just a bill-swap, pay off your panels’ financing and stop paying your electric bill!”). What a bunch of bs—our monthly panels payment is slightly more per month than our average electric bill last year, then our panels are only covering about half our use so now we’re paying ~150% of what we were paying for electric last year. We were promised continued, hands -on support if by chance our system wasn’t producing as promised… NOPE. More like there’s nothing they can do for us and “we told you results could vary!” (The fine print of the contract may have stated this, but that’s not at all how it was verbally explained by our sales person (Jake Flanders). We feel totally duped, are not at all satisfied, and now Ambia is ghosting us. And now we have a 30 year contract to pay off this very unsatisfactory system. There’s also a referral program that we’re supposed to get $500 back every time we get someone to sign up and actually install. We’ve done this for one person and have not gotten paid despite the person completing their install months ago. We 100% regret going through with this project and Ambia feels like 100% scam that doesn’t actually care about customers at all. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND, STAY AWAY.” – Jeremy Doody ⭐☆☆☆☆ November 2025
