“We had Halco do the original 40 panel solar installation in July 2015 and we were very, very happy with their installation. In November 2023 we had to have a new roof installed on our home. They coordinated taking all the panels down, storing them next to our home, and reassembling them. While it was $5,000 to do this, it has been worth it for sure. We have always had a professional response and taking care of any problems that have come up. We go 6 months of the year with NO electric bill. “I contacted this company as a property owner with multiple rental properties to ask about services and eligibility for available incentives and grant programs, as the information online was unclear. My goal was to have an initial conversation to see which properties might qualify before moving further. The representative said she could help, but the call focused on collecting detailed information to pass to a specialist rather than answering general questions. I was asked for my billing address and the exact addresses of all properties. When I asked why this was needed at such an early stage, she explained they use addresses to look up assessment values, square footage, and photos or details from sites like Zillow before an audit. I explained that online data often does not reflect conditions relevant to insulation needs, basement/attic size, etc and that I was happy to provide full details once we determined it made sense to proceed. I was told I likely would not receive a call back without providing addresses. After giving one address for a property we were open to getting a quote on, I was told a callback would take about four days. Five minutes later, I received another call saying they would not be able to help, without any explanation given. “I am writing this review based on an experience I had with HALCO crew and the fact that they cut open the ceiling of a room not knowing that there was vermiculite in the ceiling then stopped working and said they were not certified to work with asbestos and they could not complete the job. They then called to schedule another appointment to come finish the job and my boyfriend questioned wether we were safe since we’ve been “”exposed”” they rolled their eyes and laughed and smirked and it made things WAY WORSE! I’m only leaving this review to warn others for their SAFETY! “We hired Halco for a duct cleaning and the technician they sent broke our heat pump system, which was working perfectly before they came. They sent the same technician out to diagnose the problem, which he couldnt do after 3 hours. We had another company out, who diagnosed extensive damage including multiple cracks in the coolant line due to the Halco technician either stepping on them or dragging equipment over. A cover was also replaced improperly allowing insulation inside. Halco refused to admit fault and deny their technician even entered the attic. “Horrible communication!! Made an appointment two weeks in advance to get furnace system cleaned. The first team said they couldnt do it. Then they sent me a message asking if I would like them to send a technician. Without my authorization they turned around and sent someone before I could even respond. Charged me more than what I was quoted and was there maybe a hour . There is no way they did all that in That time frame. The invoice said they removed a spider!!! “Be careful- no background check or drug screening so, you know, hiring at random…. the ship is driven by one captain only. Suggest all you want but it’s a “yes sir” culture. “We have used Halco for all our heating and plumbing needs for the last 9 years. The quality of their people and their work is excellent. We have a service agreement and had our routine servicing done on our furnace in May, 2023. The technician, Bradley, did a great job. He noted our inducer motor was getting loud due to bearings go bad, we could hear it. He quoted us a price to replace it, we also talked to a Halco Rep to price a new furnace and a heat pump. We decided to replace the inducer motor. The whole Halco system is so efficient. We accepted the email quote and they scheduled an appointment right away. They always call before showing up and are very prompt. Bradley just replaced the inducer motor and it is so quiet now. Bradley is very friendly and professional. It’s hard to find a company that has old time values, quality, professionalism, proper treatment of their customers. Halco has it all. “Avoid Halco Plumbing at all cost. Here is a list why…. 1. While repairing my sewer drain Gino broke my footer drain. He dismissed the broken pipe, buried the broken pipe and then when my basement flooded, Hal Smith denied responsibility because the footer drain was not marked. 2. Gino was supposed to leave my lawn as a rough grade. There were piles of brush, holes in the ground, and mounds of dirt. My husband and I spent 1/2 day “”cleaning”” it up. 3. Dan charged me a dispatch fee when I called him to come and problem solve the ground water in my basement. 4. Dan drilled open my sewer cap in the basement and left it. I called Halco back to replace the cap, because sewer gas was leaking into my basement. 5. Dan ran a snake down my basement floor drain and said I had a broken pipe at 2 feet. I then called Drain Brain and they were able to run a camera down the drain and out of my house a full 80 feet. If you choose to hire Halco, make sure you are home and have your camera ready to record everything. I did not, and my complaint at the BBB was not resolved in my favor.” – Eli R. ⭐☆☆☆☆ May 2018

“Quality of work appears to be good. Very lacking in professionalism and courtesey. Some of the worst customer service I have experienced. Scheduled crew to be here at a time they were not available. Did not call to inform me that they would be over an hour late (had first appointment of the day). At one point they performed a pressure test of the house without informing us and my wife was “”locked out”” of the house. Crew destroyed one of our flower beds and did not inform us of it. We have a 7 year old in the house and they worked up in the Eve’s above her bedroom until 10:30 at night without asking if it was ok to do so. She had school the next day and had difficulty staying awake due to the lack of sleep. I was told that the owners of the company would contact me about my concerns. “Called because my hot water heater died and told the call taker that I would need a new one installed. Scheduled me for today saying they keep them on the trucks or could install one I bought(just wouldn’t be warranty covered) and they would have time to install it today. Sent a heating specialist to tell me I needed a new hot water heater, which I already knew, and they wouldn’t be able to install today, the only reason I booked with them in the first place, and they won’t install customer bought hot water heaters. “We had two junior techs come out to check our water heater and bathroom plumbing systems, and ended up spending $160 for them to not only turn our water heater off due to a “”red tag”” warning (more on that in a moment), and for them to inspect our pipes with a small camera. The “”red tag”” warning they issued was bogus after we had a different tech from another company come to take a look. Though the techs from Halco were adamant that it was an issue, and that they “”knew”” that CO was leaking into our basement. Even though they never verified that in front of me & didn’t listen when we told them we have multiple CO meters around our basement. When confronted, they were very dismissive of me, and then walked out laughing to their truck. I’m sure they were just trying to sell us a new water heater, given their attitudes, but I’ve never quite had such an unprofessional experience before in my life.
