“After experiencing several leaks in my old roof due to the recent rains, I contacted Terry Zheng at Westshore Roofing, Inc. for a full roof replacement. He stopped by the next day. Terry was incredibly professional and explained every step of the replacement process in detail, so I signed the contract immediately. Then, Dave and his team stopped by to temporarily cover the leaks with clear tarps so that my solar panels could still work. Robert was the project manager; he scheduled all the work and followed up daily. The crew arrived on time every day and finished the entire project in 5 days. What impressed me most was the cleanup–they ran magnets over the yard to ensure no nails were left behind. “Westshore Roofing installed our new roof with Certainteed Presidential shakes nearly a decade ago. I was very happy with the entire process – from removal to repair of frame to installation and daily cleanup. Everyone who worked on the project was professional & friendly. But what compelled me to write a review is their after-installation service. I had to call them twice in recent years for gutter repair. Each time they were on time, fixed the problem quickly and only charged nominal fee. They even cleaned my entire gutter! “I regret having given Westshore roofing a glowing review, practically when theirs were scarce on Yelp. Update: There have been leaks in my expensive metal roof, and I have been chasing this company to look at their own job. No such luck — after months of sending emails/texts to basically a black-hole. To summarize the high quality work they initially did many years ago, they also missed putting a downspout (which they thankfully added a couple of year later, when I found out). But the rats constantly ruled my house until I realized the roofer had not plugged any valley or hip where there were gaps. “The company installed a brand new roof for me in 2018. Just 6 years, there is a leakage between the house and the garage structure. I had an independent contractor come and took pictures of the joint. The workmanship is bad…. So be careful when you trusted the roofer too much. “We reached out to four roofing companies to quote our re-roofing project. We compared them on professionalism, quote thoroughness, feeling of trust and integrity with the salesperson, and knowledge. Westshore ranked highest hands down. They were not the cheapest, nor were they the highest bid, but they were the best. We felt so comfortable with Ben, and rather than try to upsell us as others did, he helped us figure out ways we could get the job done within our budget. The quote offered several options which was quite helpful in our choices. During our decision period, we had several questions and he responded immediately every time. When it came time for the work, the crew was always on time and professional. They cleaned up and you could barely tell they were even here at the end of the day. We were glad to see that the crew was able to take several water breaks (in nearly 100-degree heat) and time off for lunch and they still finished the job ahead of schedule. “I had a great experience with Westshore Roofing! Our estimator Steve was kind, educated and helpful. He kept in contact throughout the process to advise us of the following stages. The crews were polite and arrived on time. Work was done rather swiftly although we did have a few delays due to a little misunderstanding. However Paul the owner did an excellent job of keeping us informed on the delay and outlining the next steps. Our wants and concerns were acknowledged, addressed seriously and responded to immediately. “We have been searching for a company to help tear off and rebuild a new roof/balcony with tile for our home. My Husband contacted Westshore Roofing Inc and spoke with the individual there explaining what needed to be done. He was told that they are busy with many jobs, but after my husband elaborated more on what was needed, she stated she would have someone contact us. The next day my Husband gets a call from an estimator from this company that states he “”looked at our home from Google Maps”” and “”we don’t want to do that type of work.”” He stated nothing else, no reason why they didn’t want to do that job. It must be nice to pick and choose potential jobs you DO want to do…via Google Maps. “Came out promptly for the estimate, but once I called to schedule gutter replacement, an entirely different story occurred. I left three messages, none of which were ever returned, When I finally did reach an employee answering the phones, I was told that their “”first responsibility was to their roofing customers,”” so that was why no one returned my calls. I persisted, like a fool (look at the reviews on Angie’s list) and finally I was able to reach Sven to schedule my gutter replacement for 8:30 this morning. No one showed up, and no one called. “Westshore Roofing has continued to be a first rate business eleven years after they installed our PVC membrane roof. The roof has worked well for us for nearly twelve years. The roof was installed at the same time as our solar panels and the coordination between Westshore and the solar installers was excellent. Since the initial install we’ve had a several interactions with Westshore Roofing and they’ve all been very cordial and quickly resolved our concerns. 1) Several years after we had the roof installed we had some concerns about a corner seam and they sent someone out within a day to check it. The seam was actually well sealed but the edge had lifted slightly so they resealed the edge. 2) A second time we had a small leak in a corner behind a chimney, found when we were painting the house. Again a roofer was sent to our house within a day and repaired the area. 3) Most recently we had our solar panels replaced and a furnace vent that had been custom made by the roofers at the time of the roof install was no longer needed and had to be sealed off. Paul worked with us to get someone out within a week to take care of it. All of our interactions with Westshore Roofing have been very positive. The work crew was always on time, professional and hard working. They worked late into the night to complete the roof before the big storm rolled in. Every day they cleaned up all debris, and at the end of the job they cleaned out the gutters. They inspected the existing sky lights for any damage to seals and gaskets before roofing surrounding area. Follow through was impeccable. It was a pleasure working with this company. “Initially I was very pleased with how my new roof turned out. It looked nice with high quality material and was completed in a timely manner (August 2019). HOWEVER, when it came to the final inspection, the first time it failed (9/10/19), I chalked it up to a picky inspector. The second time it failed (12/23/19), I hoped it was due to poor communication or understanding what the inspector wanted. Now that the final inspection has failed for the third time (2/7/20) and the inspector wrote in part “”…as noted on inspection notices dated 9/10/19 and 12/23/19…”” , (NOTE: this has been three different inspectors) I am now thinking that the roofer is not paying attention to the inspectors request or simply not understanding the cities requirements.
