“I had Independent Energy Hawaii add (25) PV panels and (3) Tesla Powerwall 3 batteries to my NEM system, and now my monthly HECO bill went from $550 a month to $32 a month. The communication from the IEH team was very transparent and clear throughout the process, as they handled every step required for my solar system to be installed, which included my HOA. We ended up getting almost 50% back from the cost of the install in tax credits (installed 2022), we will break even in 5 years total with our $34/month electric bills. I tell all my homeowner friends, if you can swing it, get solar! I can run our AC’s, dishwasher, washer/dryer without worry about running up an electric bill. “Amazing company to work with from inquiring about solar PV systems till after installation. I will need to write another review about their servicing in the future. But for me, I first heard of this company back in 2023 when my neighbor and I were planning to get solar PV together. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to go through the process as I needed to replace my 30 year olf roof first. Fast forward to 2025, I was able to get a new roof by inquiring at the end of June 2025. Fast forward again to mid September 2025, I have a great solar PV system on my house. Just in time as the government is planning on canceling the tax credit following 2025. Overall it was a great and easy experience. They are very prompt on communication and very professional. Even during the installation, the team was easy and simple to work with. I have nothing bad to say with my experiences with Independent Energy and their team. Almost forgot to mention the cost of my 21 panels and 2 batteries was just under $50K and they helped me get the best financing option with Hawaii State Federal Credit Union which offers 0 payment, 0% interest for 18 months, which I plan to pay off before month 19.
