“I decided to upgrade my existing solar system adding more solar panels and a solar battery. Initially, the company was very responsive seemed very professional. That changed towards the end of the completion of the installation. I asked multiple times which breakers were installed on my critical loads panel and still to this day, no one can give me a strait answer. Every time I would ask a question (any question), no one would seem to have an answer and would have to defer to someone else. Luckily, I was able to find someone outside the company to answer my questions and setup the battery how I wished it to be setup. As of now, I have questions about the SGIP rebate which was one of the initial selling point. Even on my original paperwork, they made it seem as if it would be an easy process to obtain. Over one year, SCE has not accepted by application. I have no idea what the status, time frames, or who is the contact to answer any of my questions. Any questions I have, they just cut and paste the SCE website, as if they’re telling me it’s my problem now. Still to this day, I have not received the rebate or any updates on the process. It is understandable that SCE controls the rebate and is out of their hands but having more answers than a simple cut and paste job off a website would be appreciated. It is very frustrating to get the run around to your questions after paying a large sum of money. Unfortunately, I would not recommend Orange County Solar to anyone. I regret every working with this company. Please find another company that value their customers and not treat them like a nuisance. “Talked a good game and everything started fine – but took them several attempts to get city permit signoff, as they kept missing things and not doing install properly. Then they messed up wiring to my house thermostat (the did it originally at start of install and now again after they “finished” install) and now won’t address – one week after install and the second time they did this during the process. Also note you can’t get through to customer service and get anyone live-hard even to find an email address for them. Doesn’t matter though, as they don’t respond to voicemails or emails at all it appears. Been over a week with both a VM and emails and NO ONE EVER has contacted me back. “I read a lot of positive reviews and I was hoping my experience with this business would be equally positive, but it wasn’t. “Don,” the sales representative I was handed down to, seemed uninterested and too lazy to provide me with a project proposal. He pretty much said they were booked for the rest of the year and showed very little desire to procure my business. Very disappointing service! If you asked to submit information to provide me with a quote, PROVIDE THE QUOTE, and then you let me decide if I want to wait for your services – or not. Showing no interest in gaining more customers because you are busy now is not a good business model. “Asked for an estimate, but the Sales Manager Matt Webb came across as a bully who enjoyed humiliating and dominating the dialogue like a bad car salesman employing some kind of archaic sales technique, and as a way of projecting his own narcissist agenda, as opposed to a acting like a professional and dignifying us with respect as customers. We did not regard him as kind or user-friendly, and so we decided to take our $80,000 installation somewhere else – Oh, and by the way, immediately after terminating any idea of a business relationship with this man and company, curiously enough – we started getting many spam calls. “My installation was a mess. Big hole on the wall, broken tiles, broken nails and cable wire fragments on the roof after installation. Customer service would never do anything except keep promising the job will be done soon and nobody would come after weeks. Now after only 4 months usage, none of the 15 panels produce any energy. Their service monitoring is a lie because when I reported to them and they do not even know my service is down. “Here is what you need to know about OC Solar. They sell you the system and they do a good job of installing it, but after that you become a customer of goodleap who you pay your monthly payments to. As soon as you have a problem like I did with the system not working, OC Solar says they are only the installer and you have to deal with Goodleap. With Goodleap you talk to a call center in India and they tell you that even though their system is not working and not producing power, you have to still keep paying them the same monthly payment as if it were a working service. No outage or courtesy credits. Be prepared to pay for services not rendered which I believe is illegal. It’s now been over a month and still waiting for OC solar to fix my solar outage. In the meantime I have a 500 dollar power bill from SCE and still have to pay Goodleap their monthly payment as they offer no credits for outages on your system” – clark peterson ⭐☆☆☆☆ September 2026
