“I first contacted Simple Power President Mark Dickson in June 2014, with and expressed interest of offsetting as much of my monthly bill as possible. He explained the details of the install and all the various rebate and incentives that were available at that time. After a little number crunching, I easily saw the payback potential over the lifetime of the system. Mark and his team handled all the of the permitting/engineering and certified an $8,220 rebate from the local utility district. After a couple weeks to approve the permits/rebates, we were ready to install. Simple Power had my system up and turned on in under a week. The crew installing the system were clean, professional, and exhibited great knowledge and enthusiasm in their trade. A week after the system was commissioned I got my rebate check, greatly softening the sticker price of the system. I’ve been producing over 80%-90% of my bill and now that it’s summer I’m getting $0’s in the mail on the bill. I love how the system looks on my roof and the savings even better. Overall I am completely satisfied in the product Simple Power has provided and will defiantly be recommending them to anyone looking to install solar on their home or business. “1 Star feels generous for this company given my experience and their fraudulent sales tactics. The bottom line is this company does not stand behind its product. We purchased 27 “High Snow Load Rated” panels from this company and 100% of them failed. The warranty has specific exclusions requiring you to shovel the panels despite some of them being located some 30 feet above grade. We were able to shovel half of them, the other half were inaccessible. All of them failed. Their response “file an insurance claim”. They do not disclose their 15% loss experience in 2017 nor will they disclose their loss experience in 2022-2023 which was much more profound than 15%. The bottom line: it’s absolutely fraud to sell “high snow load” panels in Lake Tahoe and then do nothing to support the product. Do not buy anything from this company. “I worked with Krystal Gilman when my half of my panels stopped working. The installer of our panels was no longer responding to communications and Krystal and Simple Power were able to come out and quickly get things going again. They are very clear I’m all that they find and communicate clearly every step of the way. They are definitely looking out for the customers and want you to be satisfied. “This company is incompetent and left covers off inverters, didn’t run loads to loads panel, never wired battery backup load panel, left open junction boxes with wires hanging out, left breakers out of the main. They are now refusing to finish the job by not running loads to the loads panel. I have to hire another company to finish their work on a PPA leased system. Simple Power abandoned us and left a mess to clean up at our expense. They sent 7 crews who never knew what the other crew didn’t do and didn’t care to bother to look. “We purchased a 10.125kW solar system that included 27 “High Snow Load Rated” panels and an inverter. 100% of the panels failed in the first year. The warranty for these “High Snow Load” panels has an exclusion if you do not shovel the panels. My panels are located 30″ above grade with sharp angle pitches. We shoveled half of the panels and they all failed. They declined to cover any of the panels under their “warranty” and recommended I file an insurance claim! Mike decided not to disclose his customer’s ~15% loss experience on panels in place during 2017 and am sure they will not disclose their customer’s loss experience in 2022-2023.
