“I was having trouble finding a Solar company to come and look at a problem I had with my existing solar system, and I wanted to expand the existing system. The company that installed the original system apparently went of business. “I signed up with Solar Side Up (SSU) in March after being assured the system would be turned on for the costly summer months. Despite some weeks-long radio silence after I signed the contract and a few small delays, the system was installed two months later at the end of May. Unfortunately, SSU then botched the handoff to Xcel leading to a further 2.5 month delay with my system offline until early August. This delay resulted in me covering 100% of June and July’s electricity bills (~$350) and was in no way my fault. Understanding that this was probably a relatively common occurrence and the amount requested was less than 2% of the amount I paid, I assumed SSU would happily compensate me for the missed timelines to make things right. He gave me detailed invoices and communicated with the insurance company to get thing approved, sparing me so many headaches. The guys who did the work were very courteous, capable and also communicated well, calling before they showed up and showing up when I expected them. They cleaned up so well that after they left that we couldn’t even tell they’d been. “System installed, great job to get it done fast, and passed final inspection: October 18, 2020 After installation they really fell flat, just sat on my paperwork for 6 weeks, did nothing to actually move fast to get xcel hooked up.I followed up a few times, got a few 5 word updates via email, they still won’t admit they just forgot to do the simple steps with xcel to get it done.Recommendation – Just go with Tesla, their customer service is bad but at least you will save 30%. “I spoke to Michael and gave them another chance but as there service manager said they make there money on installs and do NOT like to do service! I have several panels that are damaged and unfortunately some rodent damage! I asked for a price to just get the wiring fixed from the rodents and they stated thousands ! And that they would not help deal with the insurance! So if you are an existing client you will be kicked to the curb ! All they want to do is install new systems! Geoff who is the service manager has NO customer service skills! And is very rude! He will remind you that they make no money on service and does not like to perform any service! Unfortunately all things break down but they do not want to service it! I would NOT recommend them! “Michael will tell you whatever it takes to sale you a system. He’ll throw out Jeff’s 30 years of experience. Scratch the surface a little and Jeff has 30 years of incompetence. If you educate yourself and read all the documentation then question the work, Michael is quick to talk down to you falling back on “”30 years of experience.”” Keep in mind, Michael is an idiot who doesn’t seem to have reading comprehension skills or the ability to do simple math. Honestly, he’s sales and you should not expect anything but lies from him.
