“Investigated solar 10 or more years ago. Received quotes of 100k+ not doable. Not recalling contractors I called several in May one of which was Joseph who reminded me he had 10 years previously given me a quote. It was a big plus that he was still in business as many solar contractors don’t make it that long. After our conversation it was obvious that solar had dropped a lot. I contracted with Joseph and his team preformed flawlessly. They started and completed job in a timely manner. “We had a PV system installed in November 2019. Josef was very professional in the planning process and helping come up with what I think the optimal layout and design would be, spreading the system to cover two directions for good production over the course of the day. We also included with this a fast-charging system for my plug-in hybrid car. The installation team was very efficient and thorough, and did an excellent job. Like I said, he’s a nice guy, but because our unit was out of glycol (I’m assuming) because they never came to help and it stopped working properly. Because they wouldn’t get back in touch with us, our unit broke and we can’t afford thousands of dollars to fix….so we switched back to electric and I’ve NEVER been happier!! “I could write a long list of everything that went wrong along the way. In the end we are not very happy with the final project. It works, but we want to be off grid more than he is allowing us. Plus it pays back almost nothing to send power back to the grid. The system we got would allow us to be a whole house system while the grid is down if he installed it a certain way. He refuses (and will argue back and forth). We will have to pay another electrician (probably around 8-10k) to change the set up- because it is possible to run the system that way even according to his electrician. Tax write off is nice but he convinced us to let him build our pole barn portion because it would have a tax write off too…. well that wasn’t true. He seemed ill prepared to handle the government/paperwork side of things. Project took months longer than quoted. I just say proceed with caution, get multiple companies to quote you, go over and over what you want so it’s expressed correctly and understood by both parties. “Would NOT return my phone calls or text messages for 6 months. From October 2018 (when our glycol levels were getting low and something was going wrong that we couldn’t figure out on our own), until APRIL 2019… A HALF A YEAR LATER. Taylor is a nice guy, but said he was on vacation in October and would contact me after he came back to set up an appointment to come fix the issue. We purchased our home with the solar panels back in 2015. We’ve tried to communicate with Josef as well, but kept referring us to Taylor. “FIVE BIG STARS: This is a *terrific* company with (literally) German installation precision. We have had our system since 2012 and it’s generated 99.45MWh – the energy we created could power 30,000 for an hour. That means our power bill is cut in half (e.g. no power at night). And we enjoy cool air conditioning for free all summer days. Update: I just saw a previous post where someone complained (“”oddly”” posting twice to hurt the company). In the 10 years I have known Solar Sun World, they have been totally professional and truly perfect. I’ve recommended then to friends and all are delighted with their panels. “Not a company I would ever use again, nor recommend to anyone. We had a fault light (reported it to them) on our newly installed 23 panel system. The technician came and did nothing. Because of their inaction and possible manufacturer’s defect a house fire erupted (see picture). $400k in fire, water damage, broken windows and 1 year dislocation thanks to Sun Solar World. There is one star because you can’t give zero. In response to owners request: The review is true and accurate. As stated the issue was not the installation but the lack of corrective action to the fault light/malfunction. Sceenshots of text messages and documentation support this. Your lack of accountability and attempt to shift blame is typical of a company trying to cover a mistake– not responding appropriately to the system’s warnings. Additionally the investigators did outbrief that the although the installation was not the direct cause of the fire there were expedient cost cutting methods used that indicated sub-standard work. You would know this if you hadn’t left early the day of the investigation. I am writing what I was told by more qualified personnel and what I know to be true and accurate.
